Gorgeous weather year-round and direct flights from the U.S. to Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) mean there’s truly never a bad time to start planning your next vacation. Delta also offers flights into other Bahamian islands, including Exuma (GGT) on the island of Great Exuma and North Eleuthera (ELH) on the island of Eleuthera.

Delta serves three Bahamian airports: Nassau (NAS), Georgetown (GGT) and North Eleuthera (ELH).

Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS), formerly known as Nassau International Airport, is the largest airport in The Bahamas and the largest international gateway into the country. U.S. Customs and Border Protection operates a Preclearance station at the Nassau airport, allowing passengers traveling to the U.S. to be processed prior to departure rather than upon arrival.

Exuma International Airport (GGT) is on the island of Great Exuma located near Moss Town just northwest of George Town.

North Eleuthera Airport (ELH) is on the island of Eleuthera and serves the outlying Bahamian islands of Harbour Island and Spanish Wells.

Swim with hundreds of Cownose stingrays and feed them by hand at Stingray Experience at Atlantis on Paradise Island. Or swim with dolphins at Blue Lagoon Island.

Book a half-day or full-day fishing charter with Chubasco Charters or Born Free Fishing Charters and angle for trophy fish like barracuda, wahoo and kingfish.

Take a sailing cruise or watch the day end on a sunset cruise. You can help the captain sheet the sails and helm the controls, or sit back and nosh on gourmet nibbles and sip a glass of bubbly. Operators include Barefoot Sailing Cruises and Seahorse Sunset Dinner Cruise.

Snorkel or dive shipwrecks and underwater reefs where you can spot lionfish, clownfish, sea turtles and nurse sharks with operators such as Nassau Sailing and Snorkeling Tours, Bahama Divers or Nassau Scuba Dive.

Tour Pirates of Nassau, an interactive museum devoted to The Bahamas’ colorful history as a hideout for pirates. Learn about life in shantytowns, the famous pirate Captain Teach — aka Blackbeard — and women pirates.

The Bahamas have a tropical savanna climate, which means it is hot year-round and summers are quite rainy. The hottest months are June through September with average highs in the high 80s and low 90s. The coolest months are December to March, with average highs in the low 80s.

Rainy season is May through October, but the wettest months are June, July, August and September, when average rainfall is 4 to 6 inches per month. Rain is practically nonexistent November through April. Hurricane season is June through November.
