Core Global Airline Partners


AeroMexico-marketed flights in the following fare classes are eligible for accrual based on the percentages in the table below1, multiplied by the flight distance (as determined in Delta or the partner carrier’s sole discretion).2

Class Exclusions: If a class is not listed, no miles are earned. No miles are earned for Award Travel.

Other: Flights operated/marketed by AeroMexico Connect are also eligible to earn miles.

(1) Effective 5/28/2021 for tickets issued on Delta ticket stock (ticket numbers beginning with “006”), will earn miles as if they were Delta-operated flights. Medallion mileage accrual bonuses will apply and MQM bonuses will apply (AeroMexico’s J-Class 100%, C/D/I/W/Y-Classes 50% of applicable MQM’s).

(2) Partner-marketed flights will earn miles based on a percentage of distance flown* as determined by the fare class paid. Unless otherwise noted, mileage credit is only applicable to SkyTeam-marketed flights operated by a SkyTeam member airline. Mileage credit is not applicable to a SkyTeam-marketed flight operated by another airline.

(3) Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) are used as a counter to determine SkyMiles Medallion Status. Flights and itineraries eligible for MQMs will earn a minimum of 500 MQMs per segment.

(4) Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) apply to Medallion qualification. Flights marketed by the partner will earn MQDs based on a percentage of distance flown* as determined by the fare class paid.

(5) Medallion Mileage Bonus is based on Base Miles earned: Diamond - 120%; Platinum - 80%; Gold - 60%; Silver - 40%

Air France-marketed flights in the following fare classes are eligible for accrual based on the percentages in the table below, multiplied by the flight distance (as determined in Delta or the partner carrier’s sole discretion).1

Other Exclusions: 

Segments booked as Air France (AF) and operated by the following are not eligible to earn miles:

  • TGVAIR provided by the French Rail Company SNCF
  • Boat and Ferry Service with the Fare Basis YBOAT
  • Bus Service

Please note there is no mileage earn for Alitalia flights departing on/after October 15, 2021 until further notice.

Through October 14, 2021, Alitalia-marketed flights in the following fare classes are eligible for accrual based on the percentages in the table below, multiplied by the flight distance (as determined in Delta or the partner carrier’s sole discretion).1

Class Exclusions: If a class is not listed, no miles are earned. No miles are earned for Award Travel.

Other: Flights marketed by Alitalia and operated by either Alitalia CityLiner (CT), CAI First (XM), or CAI Second (VE) are also eligible to earn miles.

Eligible Flights:  Mileage earn valid on flights marketed by China Eastern or Shanghai Airlines, operated by China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines or other SkyTeam Partner.

Other Exclusions: Mileage earn only applies to KLM-marketed flights operated by KLM, KLM Cityhopper, and KLM coded SkyTeam partners. KLM-marketed flights operated by Jet Airways are not eligible to earn miles. Mileage earn is not eligible for the following KL-marketed flight ranges: KL100-199 and KL211-399

Other: Mileage earn is only eligible for flights operated by LATAM, Delta, Delta Shuttle® or Delta Connection®.

*Members will always earn miles, MQMs and MQDs based on the fare class letter indicated (for example: V, Y, B, etc,) when they are booking the ticket, regardless of the name of the class of service (for example: Economy Delight, Economy Classic, or Economy Light) displayed.

Other Exclusions: Mileage earn is only eligible for flights operated by Virgin Atlantic, Delta, Delta Shuttle® or Delta Connection®

Beginning with travel on May 27, 2021, SkyMiles Members can earn miles and earn towards Medallion Status on select Cape Air flights arriving to/departing from Boston Logan International (BOS), San Juan, PR (SJU), St. Thomas, USVI (STT) and St. Croix, USVI (STX) that are purchased in Delta channels (operated and marketed by Cape Air and ticketed by Delta).

Members will earn miles like they normally do on Delta-marketed flights.

Here is how Members earn towards Medallion Status on eligible Cape Air flights:

  • Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs): All Cape Air fare classes (Y, M, X, H, Q, K, S B V, T, L) earn 100% of the distance flown2
  • Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs): Members earn like they normally do on Delta-marketed flights3

Be sure to add your SkyMiles Number to your reservation prior to travel so that your miles are credited automatically after you travel.

SkyMiles Members traveling on/after May 27, 2021 on select flights operated by Cape Air are eligible to earn miles and earn towards Medallion Status. Travel must be booked through delta.com or any Delta authorized sales channel.  The qualifying electronic ticket for Cape Air eligible flight must be issued on Delta (006) ticket stock only. Customer should include their SkyMiles account number onto Delta’s reservation record locator during booking.  If a SkyMiles account number was not added to the reservation prior to travel, customer may, within 9 months of completion of the flight, request a retroactive credit. If a SkyMiles Number is added to the reservation prior to travel, the miles will be credited automatically with no action needed from the SkyMiles Member.  Mileage will be credited only for travel flown by the SkyMiles Member on scheduled service flights. Mileage is credited to the SkyMiles account of the traveler, regardless of who pays for the ticket. Mileage from one account cannot be pooled or combined with the mileage of another individual’s account. Each Member must earn his/her own mileage credit.

(1) For Cape Air-marketed (flight numbers that include the “9K” airline code) and Delta-ticketed (featuring a ticket number beginning with “006”) flights, SkyMiles Members will earn miles based on ticket price, at the rate of 5 miles per U.S. Dollar (USD) spent, including base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excluding government-imposed taxes and fees. Silver Medallion Members earn two additional miles per dollar (for a total of seven), Gold Medallion Members earn an additional three miles per dollar (for a total of eight), Platinum Medallion Members earn four additional miles per dollar (for a total of nine), and Diamond Medallion Members earn six additional miles per dollar (for a total of eleven). Medallion mileage bonus per USD spent based on earned Medallion status at the time of travel. 

(2) SkyMiles Members are eligible to earn Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs), Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) based on Delta-ticketed flight rules. MQMs are earned through flight activity are calculated based on distance flown and fare class purchased on Delta, Delta Connection®, Delta Shuttle®, and select airline partners. Flights and itineraries eligible for MQMs will earn a minimum of 500 MQMs per segment. “Distance flown” means the calculated distance between the origin and destination, as determined by Delta in its sole discretion, regardless of the actual distance traveled on any individual flight.

(3) MQSs are earned through flight activity on Delta, Delta Connection, Delta Shuttle, and select airline partners. All paid fare classes eligible to earn MQMs count toward MQSs. MQDs are the sum total of the SkyMiles Member’s spend on Delta-marketed flights (flight numbers that include the “DL” airline code), inclusive of the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but exclusive of government-imposed taxes and fees

The following tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual on Cape Air flights: Bulk, consolidator vacation or tour package fare products, Award Tickets or Pay with Miles tickets. Delta Air Lines is the final authority on the interpretation of these rules.

Note: Beginning on flights on or after January 1, 2020, SkyMiles Members will no longer earn miles on China Southern (CZ) flights that are marketed or operated by SkyTeam partner airlines.  SkyMiles Members flying with China Southern will continue earning miles only on the following flights:  

  • China Southern-marketed/China Southern-operated 
  • Delta-marketed/China Southern-operated 
  • China Southern-marketed/Delta-operated

China Southern-marketed flights in the following fare classes are eligible for accrual based on the percentages in the table below, multiplied by the flight distance (as determined in Delta or the partner carrier’s sole discretion)1.

On April 1, 2020, Delta and GOL ended their partnership and SkyMiles Members are no longer able to earn miles, Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs), Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs)* or Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) on GOL flights booked on or after April 1, 2020. Only Members who booked their GOL flight on or before March 31, 2020 will still be able to earn miles, MQMs, MQSs or MQDs.

GOL-marketed flights in the following fare classes are eligible for accrual based on the percentages in the table below, multiplied by the flight distance (as determined in Delta or the partner carrier’s sole discretion)1.

Mileage earn will only be available to Members who booked their GOL flights on or before March 31, 2020.

Class Exclusions: If a class is not listed, no miles are earned. No miles are earned for Award Travel.

Other Exclusions: GOL marketed flights numbered 9000–9999 are not eligible to earn miles.

Beginning with travel on April 15, 2021, SkyMiles Members can earn miles and earn towards Medallion Status on flights within the state of Alaska that are ticketed by Delta (the ticket number begins with ‘006’) and operated by a carrier without its own frequent flyer program. 

Members will earn miles and earn towards Status just like they normally do on Delta-ticketed flights. 

Be sure to add your SkyMiles Number to your reservation prior to travel so that your miles are credited automatically after you travel. 

Offer Terms & Conditions

Mileage accrual for SkyMiles members traveling on/after 04/15/2021 on any intra-state Alaska flight operated only by a carrier that does not offer its own Frequent Flyer Program. Travel must be booked through delta.com or any Delta authorized sales channel.  The qualifying electronic ticket for intra-Alaska eligible flight must be issued on Delta (006) ticket stock only. Customer should include their SkyMiles account number onto Delta’s reservation record locator during booking.  If a SkyMiles account number was not added to the reservation prior to travel, customer may, within 9 months of completion of the flight, request a retroactive credit. If a SkyMiles Number is added to the reservation prior to travel, the miles will be credited automatically with no action needed from the SkyMiles Member. 

For Delta-marketed (flight numbers that include the “DL” airline code) or Delta-ticketed (featuring a ticket number beginning with “006”) flights, SkyMiles Members will earn miles based on ticket price, at the rate of 5 miles per U.S. Dollar (USD) spent, including base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excluding government-imposed taxes and fees. Silver Medallion Members earn two additional miles per dollar (for a total of seven), Gold Medallion Members earn an additional three miles per dollar (for a total of eight), Platinum Medallion Members earn four additional miles per dollar (for a total of nine), and Diamond Medallion Members earn six additional miles per dollar (for a total of eleven). Medallion mileage bonus per USD spent based on earned Medallion status at the time of travel. SkyMiles Members are eligible to earn Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs), Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) based on Delta-marketed flight rules. MQMs are earned through flight activity are calculated based on distance flown and fare class purchased on Delta, Delta Connection®, Delta Shuttle®, and select airline partners. Flights and itineraries eligible for MQMs will earn a minimum of 500 MQMs per segment. MQSs are earned through flight activity on Delta, Delta Connection, Delta Shuttle, and select airline partners. All paid fare classes eligible to earn MQMs count toward MQSs. MQDs are the sum total of the SkyMiles Member’s spend on Delta-marketed flights (flight numbers that include the “DL” airline code), inclusive of the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but exclusive of government-imposed taxes and fees. Mileage will be credited only for travel flown by the SkyMiles Member on scheduled service flights. Mileage is credited to the SkyMiles account of the traveler, regardless of who pays for the ticket. Mileage from one account cannot be pooled or combined with the mileage of another individual’s account. Each Member must earn his/her own mileage credit.

The following tickets are not eligible for mileage accrual on intra-Alaska flights with other airlines: Bulk, consolidator vacation or tour package fare products, Award Tickets or Pay with Miles tickets. Delta Air Lines is the final authority on the interpretation of these rules. All rights as they apply to the execution and administration of this promotion belong solely to Delta Air Lines. This campaign is administered independently by Delta Air Lines and not in partnership with any carrier flying domestic intra-Alaska routes.

How do I know if a flight is marketed, operated, or ticketed by Delta or a partner?

The marketing carrier is determined by the two letter airline code in the flight number. For example, DL2368 is marketed by Delta and VS18 is marketed by Virgin Atlantic.

  • Delta-ticketed flights feature ticket numbers that begin with “006”. Any flight purchased through delta.com is ticketed by Delta. Other airlines have their own unique ticket numbers. For example, Virgin Atlantic-ticket flights feature ticket numbers that begin with “932.”
  • The operating carrier for a flight indicates which airline flies the plane. For example, a Virgin Atlantic-operated flight means the flight will be on Virgin Atlantic aircraft.

Travel to or from Cuba on flights operated by partner airlines is not eligible to earn miles.
