Earn Miles When You Fly
SkyMiles Members earn miles* when they fly.
Earn miles by entering your SkyMiles number when you book a flight or after booking in My Trips.
Earn 5 miles per $1 spent* on Delta-marketed flights in Main Cabin or above*.
On partner flights and on certain exception fares, you’ll earn miles differently.
Note, miles are earned by the Member who is flying (whose name and SkyMiles number are listed on the ticket), regardless of who purchased the flight.
*Basic Economy tickets do not earn miles. Ticket price eligible to earn miles includes base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, but excludes government-imposed taxes and fees.
More Miles with Medallion Status
You deserve to be rewarded for your loyalty. SkyMiles Members earn more miles at each Medallion Tier. The amount you’ll earn is based on your Medallion Status at the time of travel.
General SkyMiles Members earn 5 miles per $1* spent on Delta-marketed flights in Main Cabin or above.
Silver Medallion
7 miles per $1*
Gold Medallion
8 miles per $1*
Platinum Medallion
9 miles per $1*
Diamond Medallion

Earn up to 8 miles per dollar on eligible Delta Purchases. As a SkyMiles Member, you earn up to 5 miles per dollar* on qualifying flights. Plus, when you use your Delta SkyMiles Platinum or Reserve Amex Card you earn an additional 3 miles per dollar on Delta purchases.‡

Delta Vacations:
Earn Bonus Miles with Delta Vacations Terms and Conditions Purchase any Delta Vacations package from any Delta Vacations origin in the U.S. to any Delta Vacations destination, up to 331 days before travel, for travel anytime.
Bonus miles are awarded for purchasing the following: flight and hotel stay, flight and hotel stay plus qualified car rental, flight and car, hotel and car, hotel and transfer.
Receive 1,000 bonus miles per qualified customer on bookings of up to $4,999; 5,000 bonus miles per qualified customer on bookings of $5,000 - $9,999; and 10,000 bonus miles per qualified customer on bookings of $10,000 or more.
Maximum of 10,000 bonus miles per qualified customer.
Qualified customer means individuals with a SkyMiles number included in the reservation. Infants under two years of age who travel on an infant fare are excluded. All qualified customers must be listed as guests and use the package travel components to qualify for bonus miles.
SkyMiles number must be added to the Delta Vacations booking to receive the bonus miles. Bonus miles will not be credited when the SkyMiles number is provided directly to the airline.
Bonus miles will be posted to Members’ accounts within 8 weeks of completing qualifying travel. Miles will be posted as a bonus and will not count toward Medallion® qualification or Million Miler™ Status.
When providing a SkyMiles number, bonus miles will be awarded for Delta Vacations packages, including Delta flights, Delta-coded flights operated by the airline partners below, and flights coded and operated by the following airlines partners: Delta Connection carrier and Delta shuttle flights, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Aeromexico, and Air France.
All airline tickets and travel documents must be issued by Delta Vacations.
All mileage and subsequent awards must be earned and used according to the terms and conditions of the SkyMiles Program.

Stays Booked at delta.com:
Delta’s online hotel booking engine for stays is powered and serviced by Expedia and is accessible via delta.com, delta.com/hotels, delta.com/stays or directly at travelextras-delta.com.
Standard Mileage Offer: SkyMiles Members will earn two (2) miles per US$1 or equivalent foreign currency spent at travelextras-delta.com on the base hotel or vacation rental rate for a completed stay. Base rate is the cost of the hotel room or vacation rental property, before taxes and fees, charged at the time of booking. Taxes and fees, gratuities, room service, other incidental charges, and insurance costs are excluded from mileage credit. Miles will not be awarded on any portion of the stay paid for using miles.
Mileage can only be credited to the SkyMiles Member if the name on the booking matches the name of the SkyMiles account provided. SkyMiles number should be provided at the time of booking. Only one SkyMiles number can be provided per booking.
Please allow up to 8 weeks after completion of eligible stay for miles to be deposited in SkyMiles account.
If mileage credit has not been recorded on your SkyMiles account within 8 weeks after qualifying activity occurs, please contact us and select: Request Refund or Miles > Mileage Credit > Partners
Requests for mileage credit will be accepted up to 6 months from check out date.
Stays completed prior to enrollment into SkyMiles will not be eligible for mileage credit.
Hotel currency or status are subject to each respective Hotel guest program and may not be applicable for bookings made on travelextras-delta.com.
Miles awarded are bonus miles, and do not count toward Million Miler Status.
Unless otherwise expressly specified as part of a limited time offer (which is subject to the terms and conditions of such offer), spend on completed stays does not count toward Medallion Qualification Dollars.
Redeeming Miles for Stays:
For certain pay now hotel and vacation rental properties, SkyMiles Members have the option to pay for all or a portion of their booking using miles earned through the SkyMiles Program.
There is no minimum number of miles needed to redeem for a stay, but if you would like to book your stay using only miles, your mileage balance must equal or exceed the total of your booking.
If you do not have enough miles to pay for your entire stay, you can split your transaction using both miles and a credit/debit card for payment. When prompted, enter how many miles you would like to use for that booking; the remaining value (after subtracting the miles used) will be reflected as USD and must be paid using a credit or debit card.
You must be logged-in to your SkyMiles account to complete a purchase when using miles.
You may not combine miles from two or more accounts on a single transaction. Miles used may only come from one SkyMiles account.
Miles will be deducted at the time of purchase from the SkyMiles account provided and will appear as “Delta Stays”.
If permitted under the terms of your booking, refunds will be made to the original form of payment less any fees and charges, where applicable. If your booking was made using both miles and a credit/debit card, then the portion of your booking made with miles will be refunded as miles to your SkyMiles account and the credit/debit portion will be refunded to the original card used in the booking.
If you change or alter your booking resulting in additional costs and charges, any charges must be paid using a credit card or debit card.
Miles will not be awarded on any portion of the stay paid for using miles.
Resort fees, gratuities, room service, and any third-party fees or charges, including those incurred while traveling, are in addition to the fees and charges of your original reservation and are not eligible to be paid for with miles.
Delta reserves the right to cancel any stays bookings due to insufficient miles in your account, suspicion of fraud, violation(s) of the SkyMiles Program Rules, or termination of your SkyMiles account.
Delta may change, suspend, or terminate the redemption program (including but not limited to any benefits and conditions of participation), in whole or in part, at any time with or without notice.
Cars Booked at delta.com:
Delta’s online car rental booking engine is powered by Expedia and is accessible via delta.com, delta.com/cars or directly at travelextras-delta.com
Standard Mileage Offer: Except with respect to the Hertz Mileage offer (listed below), SkyMiles Members will earn two (2) miles per eligible US$1 or equivalent foreign currency spent at delta.com/cars on the base car rental rate for a completed car qualifying rental booking (“Qualifying Dollars”). A qualifying rental booking includes rentals at a participating location for one or more days at rates other than travel industry rates or discounts, wholesale of tour package rates or discounts, wholesale tour package rates, insurance/dealer replacement rates, corporate and government rates, group travel discounts, or rentals in conjunction with a frequent flyer car award, or other corporate agreements applicable to the respective car company. Calculation of the applicable standard mileage offer is listed below by car rental company.
Qualifying Dollars include the base car rental rate, before taxes and fees, charged at the time of booking. Taxes, fees, other incidental charges, or other booking charges or any element of the booking which is paid or reduced by redemption vouchers or discount codes are excluded from mileage credit and are not included in the Qualifying Dollars.
Mileage can only be credited to the SkyMiles Member whose name appears on the credit card used for the reservation. First and last name on credit card must match with name on SkyMiles account provided. Miles will not be awarded for cancelled, no-show, or unpaid reservations.
SkyMiles number should be provided at the time of booking.
Only one SkyMiles number can be provided per booking.
Please allow up to 8 weeks after completion of eligible rental for miles to be deposited in SkyMiles account.

Limited-Time Offers for both Stays and Cars Booked at delta.com:

Delta Cruises:
Standard Mileage Offer: SkyMiles Members will earn two (2) miles per eligible $1 spent at cruises.delta.com on the base cruise rate for a completed cruise booking, excluding port charges, port expenses, travel protection, taxes and fees charged at the time of booking. Mileage awards are based on new bookings through Delta Cruises made on or before 12/31/24 for sailings through 12/31/25. SkyMiles number must be provided prior to embarkation for mileage offer to be fulfilled. Miles are awarded to only one passenger per cruise booking. Delta reserves the right to change the Delta SkyMiles program at any time without notice. Delta is not responsible for products or services offered by other participating companies. Please allow 6 - 8 weeks after cruising for miles to be posted to your Delta SkyMiles account. Cruises must be paid for in U.S. currency. Additional restrictions may apply.
