Special Items
Overview
We’re here to help you fly with special items like children’s seats and strollers, medical equipment, sports equipment, oversized or bulky baggage and more. Each special item counts as one bag and some may require an additional fee, though many items do not.
Do You Have a Special Item?
With all special baggage, meet with a Delta gate agent when you arrive at the airport — they’ll assist you in checking your special item, and determining if an extra fee applies for an overweight or oversized item.
You might have a special item:
- If your bag is a unique size or shape
- If your bag contains items that needs extra care and attention
- If your bag exceeds 50 lbs. (23 kg) or 62 linear inches (157 cm) (length + width + height)
- If you bring equipment for medical assistance, children’s items, musical instruments or sporting gear
