Latest Updates as of: Thursday July 30, 2020 




  • Added Measures for Your Safety:  Masks, or appropriate face coverings will be required for all Delta employees and customers starting at the check-in lobby and across Delta touchpoints including Delta Sky Clubs, boarding gate areas, jet bridges and on board the aircraft for the duration of the flight, aligning with best practice guidelines from the CDC, opens in a new window
  • Earn More on Groceries: Delta SkyMiles Blue, Gold, Platinum and Reserve Consumer Card Members can now earn 4X miles at U.S. supermarkets from May 1 – July 31, 2020. Terms apply.
  • Making Space for Safer Travel: To give you more space, middle seats are now blocked from seat selection and Complimentary Upgrades will be processed at the gate only -- still by priority order.
  • Extending Your Benefits: 2020 Medallion® Status has been extended for an additional year through January 31, 2022.
  • Flexibility in Times of Change: Delta is now extending the ability to plan and re-book travel affected by coronavirus through September 2022, making eligible tickets redeemable for a longer period
  • Revised Onboard Services: Delta has added new modifications to its onboard services to give customers the safest experience possible.
  • Travel Restrictions: Stay informed on any restrictions in travel at both your origin and destination. We recommend that you always check your destination state's website for any specific quarantine policies.
  • Medical Volunteer Transportation: Delta is offering free flights for medical professionals to help certain regions of the U.S. that have been significantly impacted by coronavirus.
  • Schedule Changes: With flight schedules continuing to evolve, stay up to date on the latest changes to your itinerary by downloading the Fly Delta app.
  • Delta Sky Clubs: Select Delta Sky Clubs have temporarily been closed in an effort to consolidate services. For a list of which Clubs are still open, visit our Delta Sky Club update center.
  • eCredits: Delta continues to offer eCredits for canceled flights. If you're uncertain of future travel plans, we recommend canceling and rebooking once your new travel plans are confirmed. 
  • Change Fees: For travel through September 30, 2020 booked before April 17, 2020, there are no change or cancellation fees. 





Updates, Waivers and eCredits

Can I change or cancel my flight?

It‘s easy to cancel, make changes or rebook online. Visit My Trips to make changes to your flight(s) any time before your travel date. We’re now waiving change fees and Award redeposit fees providing greater flexibility to travel using eCredits through September 30, 2022, for customers who purchased their ticket before April 17, 2020 and:   

  • have or had upcoming travel already booked for March through December 31, 2020; or 
  • have existing eCredits or canceled travel from flights in March through December 31, 2020    

Tickets purchased between March 1 and August 31, 2020, can be changed without a change fee or Award redeposit fees for a year from the date you purchased them.

How do I change or cancel my flight?

If your trip has been impacted by coronavirus, it's easy to cancel or change your flights in My Trips.  

If you’re uncertain of future travel plans, we recommend canceling and rebooking once your new travel plans are confirmed. The value of your ticket will become an eCredit for future use.

How do I use my eCredit to rebook later?

If you have an eCredit, go to where you’ll be able to apply that eCredit at the time of purchase. You can use your ticket number to find your eCredit. For step-by-step instructions, visit our how-to-page.

All qualifying eCredits will be automatically extended to September 2022 so there’s no action needed on your part. If your eCredit for canceled travel has not yet been processed or extended, or is temporarily displaying incorrectly, there is no need to call. Rest assured your flight value is secure and will be ready to redeem online when you need it.
