CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR TRIP

Can I Change or Cancel My Flight Without Fees?

Updated June 26, 2025

We understand that your plans may change. Enjoy more peace of mind with no change or cancellation fees when you purchase Delta Classic and Extra experiences on flights originating in the U.S. and Canada. Any remaining value will become an eCredit  that you may use at any time before your ticket expires (typically, one year from the date of purchase).

You can change the date, time or location of your trip prior to departure  in  My Trips. Sometimes your new flight may cost more than your original flight. If this happens, you will need to pay the difference in price. Except as required by law, any ticket not changed or canceled prior to departure will have no remaining value.

For Delta Basic experiences, a change fee will apply. For some regions, change and cancellation fees will apply for all tickets, including Delta Main Classic and premium fares.

Already have an eCredit and ready to book? Visit  delta.com/redeem  to book your future travel. If you need help to cancel or change your flight, visit our how-to guide.

Tickets purchased directly from Delta, including Delta Basic experiences, are included in our  24-Hour Risk-Free Cancellation policy. This means you have up to 24 hours after booking to cancel your ticket for any reason and receive a full refund with no change or cancelation fees.

After 24 hours, the ticket is nonrefundable but you may change or cancel your ticket before departure for a fee** and apply the remaining value toward a future Delta ticket. If your new flight costs more than your original flight, you will need to pay the difference in price. For Delta Basic Award experiences, you may change or cancel for a fee assessed in miles which is deducted from the value of your ticket. When you cancel your ticket, the remaining mileage balance will be redeposited into your SkyMiles account. When you change your ticket, the change fee and mileage difference for your new ticket will be collected.
