There’s also a spectacular dive experience at Scripps Canyon, which lies in 60 feet under water, off the south end of Black’s Beach. There are more than 90 courses located throughout the San Diego region, from seaside settings to desert mountains to inland valleys. Animal lovers won't want to miss the San Diego Zoo, which houses the Giant Panda Research Station and San Diego Wild Animal Park, where a safari tour showcases a variety of exotic animals in near-natural habitats.

Nightlife in San Diego is extremely varied. Three casinos are within 40 minutes of downtown, and restaurants offer craft drinks and a festive atmosphere for vacationers seeking a good time. For music lovers, the Gas Lamp Quarter, Old Town, La Jolla, Pacific Beach and Mission Beach tend to be the most happening places. Throughout these areas you’ll find dance clubs and bars highlighting every music genre from classic rock to alternative experiments. You’ll also find jazz clubs and piano bars for a quieter night out on the town.
