Important SkyMiles® & Medallion® Member Updates

Our Members are at the heart of everything we do. Below is a recap of all the updates made to ensure you continue to experience the Delta Difference, and we’ll continue to evaluate all policy and Program details to make sure you enjoy being valued SkyMiles and Medallion Members.

Medallion Status & Benefits

2021 Status Extension

We want to give you more time to enjoy your benefits. As travel continues to increase, your 2021 Medallion Status will be extended an additional year through January 31, 2023. We look forward to serving you onboard soon and thank you for your continued loyalty.

Also, all Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) in your account at the end of 2021 will roll over to 2022 giving you an even bigger jumpstart on earning towards 2023 Status.

Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members who earn Status during the 2021 Medallion Year through the published requirements will be able to select 2022 Choice Benefits upon earning Status. Members who earn Diamond Medallion Status will be able to select a total of three (3) Choice Benefits and Members who earn Platinum Medallion Status will be able to select one (1) Choice Benefit. Members who receive the extended Status and do not earn it on their own will not be eligible to select new Choice Benefits for 2022.

Additionally, all earned Medallion Members will now enjoy higher upgrade priority than those with extended Status within the same Tier. For example, a Platinum Medallion Member who earned Status on their own will clear before a Platinum Medallion Member who was given extended Status.

Current Delta 360°™ Members will be able to enjoy their exclusive Membership in our annual, invite-only program for an additional year, through January 31, 2023. All Delta 360 Members will be able to select Diamond Choice Benefits beginning on February 1, 2022.

Members who receive extended Status through the Million Miler program will be eligible for Choice Benefits and upgrade priority.

Medallion Benefit Extensions

In addition to extending 2021 Status, we’ve extended the following benefits:

  • All unused and active Global and Regional Upgrade Certificates that were selected between March 1, 2019 and January 31, 2022 will be extended so they may be booked and flown by January 31, 2023.

SkyMiles Program Updates

Exclusive to Delta and special for another year, all Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) in your account at the end of 2021 will roll over into 2022, giving you even more of a jump start on earning toward 2023 Status. MQMs can be earned on flights flown with Delta and our airline partners or through spend on your eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Card. This roll over will happen with no action needed from you.

SkyMiles Medallion Status Challenges or Promotions
If you recently completed and met the published requirements in a challenge or promotion to earn Medallion Status, such as Reclaim My Status, or Status Match Challenge, your earned status through these programs will also be extended through January 31, 2023.

Additional Information on the Extensions

Medallion Members will receive an additional full-year extension of their 2021 Medallion Status – this means if you did not requalify for the same Tier or earn a higher Tier by meeting the published qualifications in 2021, your 2021 Status will be extended through January 31, 2023. Gold or Silver Medallion Status from another Member through Choice Benefits, Members currently enrolled in a Medallion Status challenge or promotion that have not yet met requirements or Centurion Card Members who are awarded complimentary Platinum Medallion Status will not be extended.

This includes MQMs from travel and any Status Boosts from your Delta SkyMiles American Express Platinum or Reserve Card, and any MQMs you rolled over from 2020 to 2021 – all MQMs in the account at the end of 2021.
