We understand that life is always changing, and sometimes major changes can pause your ability to travel. We always want to be here for you. That’s why we’ve created Reclaim My Status. This new Medallion Benefit helps you return to Status when life slows down your travel so that you can continue to experience the Medallion difference.

If you have lost your Medallion Status for a reason such as parental leave, illness, injury, a job change, or school, and are ready to start traveling again, you can request to enroll in Reclaim My Status.

Upon approval, you will immediately be given three months of the complimentary Medallion Status you previously had. To extend your Status beyond three months, you must meet the minimum travel and spend thresholds for your Status. Once you meet the thresholds, you’ll get Status for the remainder of this Medallion year, plus the entire following Medallion Year!

Learn more about Reclaim My Status and hear stories from your fellow Medallion Members that helped inspire this new benefit.

SkyMiles Members can no longer book Award Travel with Jet Airways as all Jet Airways domestic and international operations have been suspended.

A waiver was issued, in conjunction with Air France and KLM, allowing customers currently ticketed to India to change flights without penalty.

If you have recently flown on Jet Airways, you will still earn the miles for the past flight(s) according to the Jet Airways mileage earn chart . Please note some partner airline flights may take up to 7 days to post, but if the miles have not been credited to your SkyMiles account, you can request miles for your past Jet Airways flight here.

Please call Reservations at (800)-221-1212 if further assistance is needed.

Delta SkyMiles Members without an existing CLEAR membership who enroll in CLEAR on or after April 5, 2019 will be offered the preferred rates below:

  • Diamond Medallion Members: Complimentary annual membership ($179 annual savings)
  • Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion Members: $109 annual membership ($70 annual savings)
  • Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Members: $109 annual membership ($70 annual savings)
  • General SkyMiles Members: $119 annual membership ($60 annual savings)

Annual pricing for all Members who enrolled in CLEAR prior to April 5, 2019 will continue to be:

  • Diamond Medallion Members: Complimentary annual membership ($179 annual savings)
  • Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion Members: $79 annual membership ($100 annual savings)
  • Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Members: $79 annual membership ($100 annual savings)
  • General SkyMiles Members: $99 annual membership ($80 annual savings)

If you are already a Delta SkyMiles Member who enrolled in CLEAR prior to April 5, 2019, you will continue to retain your current rate upon annual renewal if your SkyMiles program Status remains the same. Additionally, if your program Status changes at any point, but you had a CLEAR membership prior to April 5, 2019, you will still have access to the previous pricing structure.

For example, if you are a Silver Medallion Member who enrolled in CLEAR on August 5, 2018, when your membership is up for renewal on August 5, 2019, you will still be offered the $79 annual rate. If on February 1, 2020, you no longer have Silver Medallion Status and become a General Member, you will be offered the $99 rate when your membership is up for renewal on August 5, 2020, if at that time you are a General Member. Because you first enrolled in CLEAR prior to April 5, 2019, you would be offered the $99 annual rate for General Members instead of the $119 annual rate for General Members.

Enroll in CLEAR today to speed through security with the touch of a finger or blink of an eye.

How Elevate Your Status works:

  • Members should know their current MQM, MQS and MQD balance before purchasing a bundle. If you need to check your balance, go to My SkyMiles or the SkyMiles section of the Fly Delta app.
  • Eligible Members can visit delta.com/elevateyourstatus and log in to participate.
  • Click “Purchase Now” to go through the easy steps to complete your transaction.
  • Once you’ve completed your transaction, the MQMs, MQSs and MQDs will be added to your 2018 balance and apply towards your 2019 Medallion Status within 24 hours. Please be sure to select a bundle that gives you enough MQMs, MQSs and MQDs to reach the next Tier of Status.
  • Members can purchase a minimum of 1,000 MQMs and 3 MQSs or up to a maximum of 12,500 MQMs and 18 MQSs. The dollar amount spent on MQMs and MQSs will be credited to your MQDs balance.

Who is eligible:

  • All Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion Members are eligible for Elevate Your Status, unless they received complimentary Status for a Tier above the Tier they earned Status for. For example, if a Member is given complimentary Gold Medallion Status, but earned Silver Medallion Status through the published requirements, he or she is ineligible for Elevate Your Status.
  • General SkyMiles Members must be within range to reach Silver Medallion Status by purchasing the maximum bundle of MQMs, MQSs and MQDs, in order to be eligible to participate. For example, if a Member only has 12,000 MQMs, he or she will not be eligible because the maximum amount of MQMs that can be earned through Elevate Your Status is 12,500 and the MQMs requirement for Silver Medallion Status is 25,000.
  • As a reminder, Diamond Medallion Members are ineligible for Elevate Your Status because Diamond Medallion Members have already reached the highest Tier of Medallion Status.

1 How do I know if a flight is marketed, operated, or ticketed by Delta or a partner?

  • The marketing carrier is determined by the two letter airline code in the flight number. For example, DL2368 is marketed by Delta and AM18 is marketed by Aeromexico.
  • A Delta-ticketed flight features a ticket number that begins with “006”. Any flight purchased through delta.com is ticketed by Delta. Other airlines have their own unique ticket numbers – for example, Aeromexico-ticked flights feature ticket numbers that begin 139.
  • The operating carrier for a flight indicates which airline owns the plane. For example, an Aeromexico-operated flight means the flight will be on an Aeromexico aircraft.

Traveling with our partner airlines is becoming even more rewarding next year. Here’s how:

Members can earn toward Medallion Status on more partner airlines

  • Starting with flights flown on 1/1/18, Members will earn Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs),
Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs), and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs – U.S.-

    miles on partner flights
    • Partner-marketed flights will earn miles based on distance flown
    • Delta-marketed flights will earn miles based on dollars spent
  • Simplified earn structures across two main groups of partners instead of four
  • How to know if a flight is Delta-marketed or partner-marketed? Simply look at the two-letter
airline code in the flight number:
    • AF 0074 is an Air-France- marketed flight, and would earn miles based on distance
      flown
    • DL 8517 is a Delta-marketed flight, and would earn miles based on dollars spent
  • When traveling on flights marketed by the following partners, Members will earn based on
    distance:
    • Aeroflot
    • Aerolineas Argentinas
    • Aeromexico
    • Air Europa
    • Air France
    • Alitalia
    • China Airlines
    • China Eastern
    • China Southern
    • Czech Airlines
    • Garuda Indonesia
    • GOL
    • Great Lakes

    • Tarom
    • Vietnam Airlines
    • Virgin Atlantic
    • Virgin Australia
    • West Jet
    • Xiamen Airlines
  • If Members have already booked a partner-marketed flight for travel on or after January 1,
2018 under the current earning rules, they may use the Request Mileage Credit form or
contact Delta Reservations after completing their travel to request a mileage credit
adjustment. Only tickets booked on or before October 26, 2017 will be considered for
    adjustment.

For full details on these changes, including eligible fare classes and specific bonus levels for each
applicable partner airline, please visit Airline Partners and select the airline you wish to learn more
about.

Starting February 2017, the Transportation Security Administration will limit access to its TSA Precheck expedited physical screening lanes. Only those customers who have paid for and enrolled in a Department of Homeland Security trusted traveler program, such as TSA Precheck will have the most frequent and consistent access to expedited screening lanes.

This change means that travelers, including SkyMiles Members, who have been receiving TSA Precheck for free will see the TSA Precheck logo on their boarding pass much less often and will be directed to standard security lanes.

SkyMiles Members looking to move through security more quickly have several options:

  • Membership to the TSA Precheck Application Program, which costs $85 for five years and enables applicants to apply online, submit to a background check and visit one of more than 380 enrollment sites across the country.
  • Global Entry, which comes with the benefit of TSA Precheck access as well as expedited clearance for travelers reentering the U.S. and costs $100 for a five year membership with a similar application process. Diamond and Platinum Medallion Members can select Global Entry application vouchers through Choice Benefits, a loyalty program feature that only Delta provides its elite Members.

Travelers with questions about TSA Precheck eligibility or for those who believe they’re not receiving TSA Precheck in error are encouraged to direct their questions to @AskTSA on Twitter or Facebook.com/AskTSA or contact TSA at (866) 289-9673.

All SkyMiles program rules apply. To review the rules, visit Membership Guide & Program Rules.

Starting January 6, 2017, SkyMiles Members can now use miles for a one-class upgrade from Main Cabin or Delta Comfort+®* to First Class or Delta One® with Mileage Upgrade Awards. To book a Mileage Upgrade Award, contact a SkyMiles representative. To learn more please visit Mileage Upgrade Awards.

  • Platinum and Gold Medallion Members will still board with Sky Priority®
  • Silver Medallion Members will still board with Priority Boarding in Main Cabin 1, formerly Zone 1

Delta Comfort+® will now be its own boarding group and will board before Sky Priority. This means that Platinum and Gold Medallion Members seated in the Main Cabin will now board after Delta Comfort+. Medallion Members will continue to receive Unlimited Complimentary Upgrades as a benefit, so if they purchase a Main Cabin fare and are upgraded to different cabin or purchase an upgraded fare, they will board accordingly with that zone.

Additionally, Certificate owners can now use an Upgrade Certificate on a companion without having to use one for themselves. So when two SkyMiles Members (one of which has Upgrade Certificates in their account) are traveling together on the same flight—whether in the same reservation or a linked reservation—an Upgrade Certificate can now be used for just one Member*. For example:

  • Previously, if a Member was flying to Europe for business in Delta One, and had a companion traveling on the same flight, he/she would not have been able to use an Upgrade Certificate to upgrade the companion to Delta One.
  • Now, in the same scenario, the Member will be able to use one Upgrade Certificate to upgrade his/her companion to Delta One as long as the companion is a SkyMiles Member.

Visit Upgrade Certificates to learn more.

* When upgrading on SkyMiles Companion Certificates, two Upgrade Certificates will be required to upgrade as the primary ticket holder and the companion must always travel in the same cabin.

Global Upgrade Certificates can be used on Delta-marketed, Aeromexico-operated flights when the Diamond Medallion Member also has an international Delta flight included in the same itinerary.

Regional Upgrade Certificates can be used on Aeromexico flights traveling between the United States and Mexico, or for any Delta-marketed, Aeromexico-operated short-haul2 flight. Upgrade Certificates are eligible for all fare classes, except for Basic Economy (E-class).

Medallion Members must contact Delta reservations directly to apply Upgrade Certificates, and upgrades will be subject to availability on Aeromexico. Miles will be earned based on the price of the original ticket before an upgrade is applied.

Delta and Aeromexico share the largest combined network between the United States and Mexico, with more than 1,000 weekly trans-border non-stops.

1How do I know if a flight is marketed, operated, or ticketed by Delta or a partner?

  • The marketing carrier is determined by the two letter airline code in the flight number. For example, DL2368 is marketed by Delta and AM18 is marketed by Aeromexico.
  • Delta-ticketed flights feature ticket numbers that begin with 006. Any flight purchased through delta.com is ticketed by Delta. Other airlines have their own unique ticket numbers. For example, Aeromexico-ticketed flights feature ticket numbers that begin with 139.
  • The operating carrier for a flight indicates which airline flies the plane. For example, an Aeromexico-operated flight means the flight will be on Aeromexico aircraft.

2Short-haul flights operated by Aeromexico include intra-Mexico flights, and flights between Mexico and the United States, Canada, Central America, Caribbean, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.

We are always looking for ways to improve the Medallion experience by listening to your feedback. Because we want to ensure our most well-traveled Members can take full advantage of all the benefits of Diamond Medallion Status, a change is being made to how Members qualify for 2019 Diamond Medallion Status.

Starting January 1, 2018, the Medallion Qualification Dollar (MQD) Waiver for Diamond Medallion Status is increasing. The MQD Waiver for Diamond Medallion Status is currently earned by spending $25,000 in eligible purchases in a calendar year on a SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. It is being adjusted to $250,000 in a calendar year.

This qualification change will allow us to deliver on expectations for Diamond Medallion Status so Members can maximize elite benefits like Complimentary Upgrades and Delta Sky Club® access. This update will not change how Members earn 2018 Diamond Medallion Status.

We understand this is a significant increase, but keep in mind that the MQD Waiver to qualify for all of the best-in-class benefits of Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion Status will remain at $25,000 and you can still reach Diamond Medallion Status by earning 125,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) or 140 Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) and $15,000 MQDs.

To learn more about how to earn Medallion Status, visit How to Get Medallion Status.

Frequently Asked Questions

Today, the MQDs requirement for the qualification year is waived if you make $25,000 or more in eligible purchases during the calendar year with Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. This benefit is for Basic Card Members only (additional Card Members are not eligible). The qualification year is from January 1 to December 31 of a given year. The close of the qualification year is December 31, without regard to the time of the year that the credit card account is opened. This means that for the first year of Card Membership, the Card Member's Eligible Purchase period may be less than twelve months.

Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, Platinum Delta SkyMiles, Delta Reserve Credit Card, Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card, Gold Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card, Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card, Delta Reserve for Business Credit Card from American Express, Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card (through December 31, 2017*). *Effective January 1, 2018, the Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card will no longer be eligible for the MQD Waiver. However, if you have another Delta SkyMiles Credit Card with the MQD Waiver benefit in addition to your Delta Blue SkyMiles Credit Card, Eligible Purchases made on the Blue Delta SkyMiles Credit Card will continue to count towards the MQD Waiver.

Eligible Purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible Purchases do NOT include fees, interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers' checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents. Eligible Purchases made by Additional Card Members on the Basic Card Member's Eligible Card will count toward the Eligible Purchase threshold. Eligible Purchases will be combined across multiple Eligible Cards of the Basic Card Member if those Card accounts are linked to the same SkyMiles number

The MQD Waiver increase to $250,000 in a calendar year to qualify for Diamond Medallion Status has no impact on any of your other card benefits.

In this instance, you would remain a Platinum Medallion Member through January 31, 2020 by reaching the Platinum Medallion requirements for 2019 Status. In order to get to Diamond Medallion Status, you would have to earn $15,000 MQDs or reach the $250,000 Diamond MQD Waiver by December 31, 2018 to reach Diamond Medallion Status for 2019 and keep Diamond Medallion Status through January 31, 2020.

2018 Medallion Status is earned through flight and spending activity from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017. From now until December 31, 2017, you have the opportunity to reach Diamond Medallion Status for 2018 through the current $25,000 MQD Waiver. In order to reach Diamond Medallion Status for 2019, which is earned through flight and spending activity from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018, you will need to meet the MQMs/MQSs requirement, and earn the required MQDs or reach the $250,000 Diamond MQD Waiver.

GET THE UPGRADES YOU WANT

    • Opt in and get your Complimentary Upgrades automatically with the ability to change your seat through the seat map afterward, or
    • Opt out and select your upgrades yourself, giving you the ability to only upgrade if your exact desired seat is available
  • If you aren’t opted in for automatic Delta Comfort+ upgrades, you can now request a Delta Comfort+ upgrade to any available seat or just a window/aisle seat when checking in for a flight.
  • Upgrades now clear at the gate ten minutes earlier than before, which gives you more of an opportunity to secure an upgraded seat before you board. And, through coordination between our gate agents and flight attendants, if you are the next Medallion Member on the upgrade list, we’ll do our best to upgrade you when an upgrade becomes available before takeoff, even if you’ve already boarded.
  • Companions traveling with Medallion Members are now eligible for Complimentary Upgrades on Award Tickets, Miles + Cash tickets, and Pay with Miles tickets, in addition to paid tickets. And, companions are also eligible for Complimentary Upgrades when traveling with a Delta SkyMiles Member on a SkyMiles Companion Certificate.

We know as a Medallion Member, you look forward to Complimentary Upgrades when you travel. That is why we have improved our policy for clearing upgrades at the gate prior to each flight’s departure to ensure that more Medallion Members are getting the upgrades they deserve.

We’ll start clearing upgrades at the gate ten minutes earlier than before, to allow more opportunity to secure an upgraded seat before you board. Plus, through the coordination of our gate agents and flight attendants, if the next Medallion Member on the list has already boarded when an upgrade becomes available, we will do our very best to upgrade them before takeoff, when possible.

To learn more about the upgrade clearance process, visit Complimentary Upgrades.

In addition to taking more control of your Complimentary Upgrades through the seat map, starting June 15, 2017, Medallion Members who are not opted in to receive automatic Delta Comfort+ upgrades will now have the ability to request an upgrade with seat type preferences when checking in for a flight. Upon check-in, Medallion Members can request a Delta Comfort+ upgrade to any available seat or only a window/aisle seat, giving you more options and control for your trip.

How it works:

  • You will only be able to select your Delta Comfort+ upgrade seat preference at check-in if you are traveling alone AND have set your preferences to opt-out of automatic Complimentary Delta Comfort+ Upgrades.
  • Once you have selected your seat preference at check-in, your upgrade request will be added to the Airport Standby list. Upgrades will clear based on availability and clearance priority.
  • Medallion Members who chose to opt-in to Complimentary Upgrades prior to check-in will still receive top priority within their eligibility window.

To learn more about your options, visit Complimentary Upgrades.

Starting May 24, 2017, Medallion Complimentary Upgrades will begin clearing on an hourly basis instead of a daily basis. This means that upgrade clearances prior to day of departure will now align closely with the hour of flight departure time. This does not change your Medallion clearance window for your Medallion Tier.

As a reminder:

  • Diamond Medallion Members: eligible for Complimentary Upgrades to Delta Comfort+ shortly after ticketing and First Class beginning 120 hours (5 days) prior to departure with priority
  • Platinum Medallion Members: eligible for Complimentary Upgrades to Delta Comfort+ shortly after ticketing and First Class beginning 120 hours (5 days) prior to departure
  • Gold Medallion Members: eligible for Complimentary Upgrades to Delta Comfort+ and First Class beginning 72 hours (3 days) prior to departure
  • Silver Medallion Members: eligible for Complimentary Upgrades to Delta Comfort+ and First Class beginning 24 hours (1 day) prior to departure

Starting May 24, 2017, Medallion Members will enjoy more flexibility around Complimentary Upgrades with two new ways to manage upgrades through the seat map.

Opt in and get your upgrades automatically:

  • Medallion Members who have already received a Complimentary Upgrade will now have the ability to select an available* seat in a different class of service through the seat map** at delta.com. So, for example, if you receive an upgrade to a Delta Comfort+ window seat, but you prefer an exit row aisle, you can revert back to Main Cabin via the seat map, if available.

Opt out and select your upgrades yourself:

  • Medallion Members who opt out of Complimentary Upgrades will now be able to self-select an available* First Class or Delta Comfort+ seat through the seat map by using the Fly Delta app or going to delta.com, if within their upgrade eligibility window.

Medallion Members who are opted in to Complimentary Upgrades will still receive first priority for Complimentary Upgrades over Medallion Members who choose to opt out.

Learn more about Complimentary Upgrades and how to change your opt in/opt out preferences.

*When using the seat map, Medallion Members may see upgrades available for purchase within their eligibility window and can choose to purchase the upgrade or wait for their Complimentary Upgrade to clear, if these seats go unsold.

Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion Members traveling on Delta flights can continue to enjoy access to TIAT Lounge and TIAT Lounge Annex at Haneda Airport (HND) for themselves plus one guest, regardless of the cabin of service they are traveling in, until October 31, 2017. Just show your Delta same-day boarding pass* to enter both lounges.

Delta Sky Club® members can also continue to enjoy lounge access during this time, even when traveling on non-Delta flights. Members with an Executive Membership can enjoy access for themselves and up to two guests per visit. Just show your Delta Sky Club membership card and same-day boarding pass to enter both lounges.

*To gain entry, boarding pass must display SkyMiles number.

Now traveling with your companion is even better. Starting April 6, 2017, companions traveling with Medallion Members will be eligible for Complimentary Upgrades not only on paid tickets but Award Tickets, Miles + Cash tickets, and Pay with Miles tickets. Companions traveling with a Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Member on a SkyMiles Companion Certificate will also be eligible for Complimentary Upgrades.

Here’s what Medallion Members need to know:

A Medallion Member and a traveling companion may both enjoy a Complimentary Upgrade to First Class, Business Class or Delta Comfort+® when traveling on Delta and Delta Connection carriers, as long as that companion is a General SkyMiles Member or a Medallion Member in the same reservation.

Complimentary Companion Upgrades must be requested at delta.com during the booking process, afterwards in My Trips, or during check-in prior to departure.

To easily update your upgrade request preferences for an individual flight through My Trips:

  • Log into delta.com
  • Select Trips from the drop down menu under your name
  • Click “Details” on the trip you want to update
  • Select/Unselect the cabins you would like to be upgraded to in the Upgrade Request section
  • Click “Confirm”
