Another must-see is the symbol of Brussels' fun and irreverent atmosphere, Manneken Pis, a famous bronze fountain sculpture dating back to 1619 that depicts a nude little boy. Depending on the season, the statue is often dressed in a costume with a wardrobe that consists of 760 items. The costumes are changed frequently in ceremonies that are often accompanied by brass band music. Brussels is a great base for popular day trips to the beautiful towns of Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp.

If you’re in the mood to shop, Brussels has you covered. Upscale shopping venues offer ample opportunities for fashionistas, while Galeries Royales St-Hubert, a light and bright shopping arcade, features many boutique shops that are surrounded by restaurants and cafes.
