How to Cancel or Change a Flight in My Trips

If your trip has been impacted by coronavirus, it is easy to cancel or change your flights.

Canceling or changing your flight in My Trips takes just a few quick steps: 

STEP 1: FIND YOUR TRIP

SkyMiles Members:

  • Log in and click on  My Trips  to view a list of upcoming scheduled trips
  • From your list of upcoming trips, select the flight you want to modify by clicking on the airport codes (circled in the image below) or by clicking “Details” to get to the Trip Details page.

Travelers without a SkyMiles account should click on  My Trips. Follow the prompts to enter your name and confirmation number. If you don’t have a confirmation number, a credit/debit card or ticket number will also work.

STEP 2: CONTINUE TO MODIFY YOUR FLIGHT 

  • Once on the Trip Details page click the “Modify Flight” button (circled in the image below.)

STEP 3: SELECT TO CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR FLIGHT 

  • Select whether you would like to start a flight change or flight cancellation. Change fees and Award redeposit fees will be waived for eligible tickets.  
  • For more information about accessing and using available eCredits, see the guide below, Go to footer note.
  • Your unused ticket will be applied as an eCredit within 24 hours of your originally scheduled travel. If your ticket is eligible for waived fees, you will not be charged a change fee or Award redeposit fee. Check out your eligibility here.

Where to Find Your eCredit(s) and How to Use Them


What are eCredits and Where Can I Find Them?

eCredits are a Delta travel voucher with a specific monetary value that can be applied as payment toward the cost of a Delta ticket and any government-imposed taxes and fees. See below for a step-by-step guide on how to access your eCredit once they've been issued. eCredits may be distributed to you when you cancel or change a Delta ticket.

STEP 1: CANCEL YOUR FLIGHT

  • If you have not yet canceled your flight, follow these steps in My Trips.

 

STEP 2: LOCATE YOUR eCREDIT

  • If you included your SkyMiles number when you made a reservation, your unused tickets will appear as eCredits within 24 hours in My Profile under Certificates, eCredits and Vouchers.

You can also view your eCredits by going to delta.com/redeem and logging in. If you do not see your eCredit in My Profile or after logging in on this page, follow these steps., Go to footer note

STEP 3: SELECT AND CONTINUE TO BOOK

  • You’ll see the available eCredit, listed as an "Unused eTicket," its corresponding value and its expiration date. (The expiration date of your eCredit will depend on the terms of your original ticket and any applicable waivers.) 
    • We are working on a solution to display the new expiration dates for applicable eCredits so even if your eCredit for canceled travel has not yet been processed or extended, rest assured that your flight value is secure. 
  • Select the eCredit(s) you would like to use.  
  • Click “Continue” to apply it toward a new flight. 
  • Find and choose your new flight to apply your selected eCredit(s) and check out.

STEP 1: CANCEL YOUR FLIGHT

  • If you have not yet canceled your flight, follow these steps in My Trips. If your ticket is non-refundable, you may be eligible for an eCredit.

 

STEP 2: LOCATE YOUR TICKET NUMBER

  • If your reservation did not include a SkyMiles number at the time of booking, you will need to locate your 13-digit ticket number beginning with 006.
  • You can find the ticket number on your cancel confirmation email entitled “Here's Your Delta Cancellation Confirmation” or your flight purchase email from DeltaAirLines@t.delta.com entitled “Your Flight Receipt."

STEP 3: FIND YOUR eCREDIT

  • Once you have located the 13-digit ticket number, enter it within the Certificate or eCredit # field on delta.com/redeem and click “Look Up.”

STEP 4: ENTER PASSENGER INFO

  • You will then need to enter the First and Last Name of the passenger and click “Add eCredit.”

STEP 5: SELECT AND CONTINUE TO BOOK

  • You’ll see the available eCredit, listed as an "Unused eTicket," its corresponding value and its expiration date. (The expiration date of your eCredit will depend on the terms of your original ticket and any applicable waivers.)
