The Spirit of Giving campaign’s BIG GIVE telethons celebrate our caring culture with our employees donating more than $9 million to the Care Fund from January to April 2023. The Care Fund is our charitable organization that is funded by our employees, for our employees that may experience financial hardships.

More than 25,000 employees tuned in over 6 weeks in March and April to watch Entertainer and Philanthropist Ludacris, Pro-Golfer Patrick Cantlay, Restaurant Entrepreneur Pinky Cole, and New Orleans Saints Super Bowl Champion DeMario Pressley celebrate our caring culture and promote giving. Employees participated in fun activities and campaign donors were given premium prizes.

While the BIG GIVE Telethons have concluded, the Care Fund continues to welcome donations as we work towards raising $30 million over the next 3 years to ensure this fund can continue to help employees. Please consider donating today.

Former CEO Jerry Grinstein directed the financial reimbursement he received after refusing a salary following our rise from bankruptcy to form the Care Fund. This selfless act honored our employees caring culture in 1982 when The Spirit of Delta began with the dream of three flight attendants. Rallying thousands, raising millions and inspiring countless coworkers, they gave back to the company that had given them so much with a lasting symbol of overwhelming gratitude, the Spirit of Delta 767.
