Downtown Hilo offers an array of museums, galleries and performance venues, including beautiful orchid gardens. Set on the island’s western coast, the sunny Kona district is home to Kailua-Kona’s popular shops, restaurants and nightlife, as well as King Kalakaua’s historic summer house.

Island of Hawaii Activities

From deserts and snow-capped mountains to dense rain forests and tropical plantations, every imaginable outdoor activity is available on the Island of HawaiI. A fun activity for the whole family is a visit to the Parker Ranch Center in Waimea, one of the largest cattle ranches in the country. Here, everyone will enjoy wagon rides, and learn the ways of the paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy).

Other must-see activities include viewing the 442-foot Akaka Falls and the 80-foot Waianuenue (Rainbow Falls) in Wailuku River State Park. We also offer exciting excursions and tours you can add to your package, such as a snorkel cruise, canopy adventure and luaus.

If you’re fascinated by history, don’t miss the largest restored temple in Hawaii, constructed in 1791 by Kamehameha the Great. And, the Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site gives you a glimpse of early Hawaiian culture, including temples, homes, burial plots and more.
