The city has two main outdoor shopping markets, and plenty of weekly or semi-weekly farmers’ markets or flea markets to enjoy in warmer weather, but during Easter and Christmas, the number of outdoor markets get in the spirit of the season.
Feast on rich, traditional Czech food, with large portions of meat and potatoes or dumplings. You can also find all kinds of international cuisine, from Italian to Mexican and more. Try the traditional braised beef with dumplings and sauerkraut, enjoy an authentic Czech rolled pastry called trdelnik, or sink your teeth into a huge portion of grilovane klobasy (grilled sausage). Czechs love beer and it’s the national drink.
