Explore the Greek Islands

Corfu will mesmerize you with stunning natural landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and perfect year-round weather. The island is an open-air museum with stately palaces, French esplanades, historic monuments and a rich multi-cultural heritage.

Greece’s largest island, Crete, is a paradise for thrill-seekers and nature lovers and is home to seductive beaches, archaeological sites and friendly locals. Its sun-drenched beaches, cliff-lined coast, gorgeous valleys, hills and mountains make this Aegean Island an ideal playground.

Mykonos’ dreamy villas, luxury resorts, legendary parties and expensive yachts will make you feel like a chic socialite. One of the most popular islands in Greece, this glamorous destination is sizzling with white-sand, umbrella-lined beaches, and a classy bar and boutique scene.

Santorini overwhelms the senses with exquisite cuisine, volcanic spas, multicolored cliffs and picture-perfect sunsets. For the ultimate romantic experience, Santorini is the most sought-after place to go.

Rhodes will transport you back to a medieval world of chivalry and knights. Boasting 300 days of sunshine every year, it is home one of the most beautiful, well-preserved Medieval town in Europe, and the cozy inland villages each has its own unique atmosphere.

No matter what Greek Island you visit, you'll want to return again and again.

On the island of Corfu, sip coffee at one of the town's cozy cafes, admire the impressive 15th-century fortress, or sample award-winning wines and olive oil.

On Crete’s northwestern coast is the city of Chania. Here you can wander around the picturesque harbor, lighthouse, and maze-like alleys to admire beautiful Venetian and Turkish mansions, fountains and elaborate churches. Taste sumptuous Cretan cuisine and wine before heading out to the White Mountains for a day of adventure. Approximately two hours south, Heraklion is a small metropolis that is home to the Palace of Knossos, a monumental symbol of Minoan civilization.

Mykonos is a Shangri-La for windsurfing, sea parachuting or jet skiing. For a more leisurely pace, marvel at the fantastic sunsets from Little Venice, stroll around the streets of Chora, and dance the day away at epic beach parties. Join the island’s nightlife scene when the sun goes down and party all night long at legendary clubs.

Relax on Santorini's tranquil beaches or watch an idyllic sunset from a beach bar. If you're a history buff, take a trip back in time to the prehistoric settlement of Akrotiri.

Stroll along Rhodes' scenic alleys to the renowned Street of the Knights. Outside the city of Rhodes are some of the most beautiful towns in the world, such as Kallithea, where you can relax on stunning beaches or rejuvenate in healing hot springs.

The Greek Islands are known for their leather goods, colorful ceramic, vintage treasures and haute couture. Along Corfu's cobblestone streets, you will find many shops selling jewelery, leather goods, local ceramics and olive wood, as well as various other souvenirs.

In Crete, browse for designer fashion on Heraklion's Daidalou Street. Don't miss the many street markets, where you can can find bargains on everything imaginable olive oil beauty products, footwear, handbags and clothing, mainly made in Greece.

Glamorous Mykonos has the most exquisite shops and boutiques that are open late to accommodate the after-hours crowd. Santorini is best known for its jewelry shops and Rhodes' leather goods, wines and local honey.

Experience a long-lasting Greek tradition of gathering together in a taverna to enjoy a meal with wine or ouzo, a dry anise-flavored aperitif. Indulge in cheese or spinach pie, a custard filled phyllo pastry or another temptation from a bakery’s window. Each island will capture your senses with recipes that please every palate.

Corfu’s signature dish pastitsada, is a stew made with chicken or veal cooked in red wine and served with thick spaghetti. The island’s cuisine is known for its Venetian influence, and many dishes have Italian names, such as bourdeto, a scrumptious fish dish, or pasta flora, a homemade jam pie.

Centuries-old Cretan recipes are blended with modern creative versions that lead to great eating experiences. From family-owned restaurants to cafes, everything that is served is locally sourced and beyond delicious. Try fresh octopus with potatoes, lamb with hilopites (noodles) or baklava (sweet phyllo dessert). Cretan wine, olive oil and olives are some of the best in the world and have been grown here for more than 4,000 years.

Notable dishes in Mykonos include a mixed dish of appetizers, such as spicy, aromatic cheese (kopanisti), and thin slices of spiced, cooked pork (louza). A popular refreshing non-alcoholic drink is soumada, an almond and rose water flavored brew. For something sweet, sample the island’s celebrated almond cookies (amygdalota).

Around every corner in Santorini, you’ll find terraced dining spots and cozy taverns with mouthwatering dishes passed down for centuries. Unique island dishes include fava, an iconic appetizer made with fava beans and yellow split peas, goat cheese, white eggplant and tomato kefedes, which are small fried tomato fritters. And a classic dessert is a bowl of yogurt topped with honey.

A typical meal in Rhodes is served with delicious country-style bread with fermented rye made in wood burning ovens.
