Payment Requirements

Per DOT Regulations, charter payment must be received by Delta prior to the charter departure. Acceptable methods of payment are via a wire transfer or check; credit card payments are not accepted.

Charter Pricing

Charter pricing is based upon a number of parameters such as: desired travel dates, aircraft type, fuel burn (i.e. gallons per hour), block hours flown, aircraft repositioning (i.e. ferrying) required, ground handling costs and catering costs.

The aircraft type will be determined by the projected passenger count in conjunction with aircraft and crew availability.

Delta’s Privacy Policy can be found here.

Charter Alternatives

For groups larger than 10 passengers where a dedicated charter is not required, Delta Group Sales would be a more cost-effective option than chartering.

For groups of 14 or less, Wheels Up provides Members with access to one of the world’s largest fleets of private aircraft and access to exclusive cross-platform benefits that cannot be found anywhere else in private aviation. Frequently Asked Questions

Chartering a flight is more expensive than flying commercially as a group because you will be paying for the entire aircraft, not just an individual seat. There are, however, several benefits to flying charter including designating your own departure time, skipping long security waits, enjoying pre-flight catering and experiencing a higher level of personalization when it comes to traveling.
Charge cards are not accepted as a form of payment for charter flights; all charter payments must be made by Fedwire transfer to Delta’s designated depository bank.
Delta-operated charter flights are not eligible to earn miles as part of the SkyMiles program. However, SkyMiles Members can earn miles through multiple ways including on regularly scheduled Delta commercial flights Main Cabin and above, through our partner airlines, with a Delta SkyMiles American Express Card or through our SkyMiles Partners.
Miles are not accepted as a form of payment because charter flights are not eligible for Award Travel. All charter payments must be made by Fedwire transfer to Delta’s designated depository bank.

Domestic charters should be booked at least 2.5 months in advance. However, we review all requests to determine how we can best support, including requests with shorter timeframes.

For international charters, please reach out at least 6 months in advance for planning purposes and to secure the appropriate government approvals.

If you are interested in booking a public charter with Delta, you will need to submit a Charter Prospectus to the Special Authorities Division of the Department of Transportation (DOT). You can access the Prospectus Forms, opens in a new window on the DOT’s website.
