Exit European Union (EU) Refund or Compensation Request


Sometimes things don’t go as planned and we apologize for any disruptions you may have experienced. If your travel plans from the EU were disrupted, you may be entitled to a refund or compensation.

 

Compensation

Subject to European Union detailed specifications and modalities pursuant to Regulation 261/2004 of 11 February 2004, you may be entitled to compensation if you’ve experienced any of the below trip disruptions: 

  • Your flight was canceled
  • Your flight was delayed more than 3 hours
  • Your flight was overbooked

Refund 

Subject to European Union detailed specifications and modalities pursuant to Regulation 261/2004, you may request a refund of any unused portion of your ticket if you’ve experienced any of the below trip disruptions: 

  • Your flight was overbooked
  • Your flight was canceled
  • Your flight was delayed for more than 5 hours

Please note, you may request a partial refund if you were placed in a lower class of service than you purchased.

Processing Your Request 

Delta will process eligible refund requests within 7 business days of receipt and is not responsible for any processing delays that may occur by your bank based on your method of payment. For eligible compensation requests, once submitted, we will review your request and update you on the status.

Please note, if you purchased your ticket from a travel agent and have experienced a qualifying trip disruption outlined above, contact your travel agent directly to seek a refund or compensation. In case of any difficulty with the travel agent, contact us. For flights operated by an airline other than Delta, please contact that airline directly.
