Sitting on the eastern Florida coastline, and accessed through Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), West Palm Beach features luxurious resorts and lively streets for those looking for a tropical vacation destination. Fly to Palm Beach and you’ll find the third-wealthiest American city, dripping with high-end dining, resorts and shopping. Find interesting art and culture too – such as a host of microbreweries -- plus pristine beaches and sunny, warm south Florida weather.

Not to be confused with the separate airports in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, the smaller Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) sits closest to Palm Beach and West Palm Beach. It serves nearly 200 daily non-stop arrivals, and has been consistently received a Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Award for being the Fifth Best Domestic Airport in 2015. Most memorable, the airport offers a full-service salon and spa. Plus an 8-hole putting green that you can play for just $3.20 with a souvenir ball.

BEACHES

Separated from West Palm Beach by Lake Worth Lagoon, Palm Beach stretches 16 miles along the coast of Florida, offering ample room for beach-goers to sit by the water and enjoy the warm Sunshine State weather. With resorts and shopping aplenty, Palm Beach has become a popular destination and winter home for some of the country’s elite.

DESIGN AND CULTURE

Art museums are a popular attraction in West Palm Beach. The Flagler Museum, named after one of the area’s earliest pioneers features ornate furniture and was described in 1902 by the New York Herald as “grander than any palace in Europe.” For fine art lovers, visitors can see the latest exhibitions at the Norton Museum of Art and its wide collection of American, French and Chinese art. And for those looking for a strictly contemporary feel, check out the Gavlak Gallery which features a rotating display of today’s visual artists.

RESORTS

Some of the country’s wealthiest people spend their winters in West Palm Beach. Of course the famous Mar a Lago sits on the island of Palm Beach, while The Breakers has housed luxury-seekers on the beach since 1896. Another long-time resident of the island – the Brazilian Court Hotel – offers visitors a more private experience.

Sitting on the coastline of the Sunshine State, West Palm Beach offers the warm, tropical weather like the rest of South Florida. While summers are typically wetter with the passing storm and highs in the 90-degrees Fahrenheit, winters are more mild. The season stretching from November through April is mostly dry with temperatures around 80-degrees.
