Flights to Jackson Hole

With resorts like the Four Seasons Jackson Hole and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Jackson, Wyoming isn't exactly roughing it. But there's something about the backdrop of the Teton Mountains, that crisp air, and the moves-at-a-snail's-pace tempo that makes this town a best bet for a great escape.

The city of Jackson has less than 11,000 inhabitants, so a trip here really is a trip away from it all. There's some serious small-town charm with restaurants that have names like the Mangy Moose and the Snake River Grill.

Not to mention a town square that has just about everything from a pair of cowboy boots you can't live without to that one-of-a-kind rustic accent piece. Just past the edge of town, the scenery reverts into a rural escape where natural wildlife like moose and antelope roam free and call the Grand Tetons home.

Jackson Hole Activities

The summer brings in fisherman, hikers and rafters, while the winter plays host to skiers and snowboarders alike.
Jackson Hole Ski Resort is just 10 miles away from the town of Jackson. The snow conditions are generally excellent and, while the resort is known for its extremely challenging terrain, it has plenty of slopes for every level. There are a lot of high-speed lifts to keep you moving on the mountain and, when you want to take a break, Teton Village at the base has a plethora of restaurants and shops for you to relax and recharge.

For those non-skiers, take a day to enjoy snowmobiling in the parks or take a sleigh ride or just take a spa day or enjoy the area restaurants, shops and museums. The National Museum of Wildlife Art is amazing, overlooking the National Elk Refuge right in the town of Jackson.
Grand Teton National Park is located just on the north side of Jackson and Yellowstone is only about 60 miles to the north. Jackson is the perfect home base for exploring the breathtaking landscape that surrounds this valley. You really can't go wrong.

Independent companies are the best way to take advantage of the different outdoor activities in Jackson. There are guides and storefronts all over town with expert knowledge of the land that's undeniably helpful for any explorer. Scout out a place that meets your needs but don't be afraid to pull up a chair to ask the locals what they think. You might find a trail even more off the beaten path than this city itself.
