Agency Discount (AD): U.S. Agency Rules

Updated: November 9, 2009

Changes to Program
Blackout dates, ticket designator changes, and specific fare basis codes now apply to reduced-rate tickets for travel on or after January 1, 2008, for travel agents located in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Valid to all qualified travel agents located in United States
  • Travel agencies may ticket an unlimited amount of AD tickets only to qualified individuals. See U.S. Travel Agency Qualifications for a complete list.
  • Must present a valid IATAN identification card at all times during travel
  • Applicable on designated fares and booking classes listed below

Note: Failure to abide by the terms and conditions of the program will result in debit memos, up to and including cancellation of Delta's ticket appointment.

Reservation & Ticketing

All bookings must be made within 90 days of departure. Seats are capacity controlled and may not be available on all flights. Tickets must be validated for travel on Delta Air Lines, Inc. or Northwest Air Lines where applicable. Travel on carriers other than Delta must be ticketed separately. See below for reservation and ticketing rules for domestic and international travel.

Domestic

Tickets must be issued within 14 days of the booking date. If reservation is made less than 14 days from departure, ticket any time.

International

  • Reservations made at least 31 days before departure, ticketing must be completed within 7 days of the booking date
  • Reservations made at least 8 days before departure, ticketing must be completed within 3 days of the booking date
  • Reservations made at least 5 days before departure, ticketing must be completed within 2 days of the booking date
  • Reservations made less than 5 days before departure, ticketing must be completed within 1 day of the booking date

Booking/Ticketing Instructions

  • Book your reservation in the appropriate inventory, using correct fare basis code.
  • Include the following entry in the PNR:
    • Example: 3OSI DL AP.50AD, AP.70AD, or AP.70ADI, whichever applies
    • Place your travel agent IATAN ID Verification number from your current IATAN ID card in the OSI field (This number is located on the IATAN ID card under travel agent name.)
  • In the Fare Basis/Ticket Designator box, include the applicable fare basis code, followed by AD50, AD70, or ADI70, whichever applies.
  • In the form of payment area, provide your credit card number, cash or check for any applicable fare, surcharges, administrative fees and taxes.
  • For an agent and accompanying companion travel (allowed on international only) both passengers must be confirmed in the same PNR.

Note: If ticketing assistance is needed, please contact your GDS Help Desk.

If pricing assistance is necessary for International AD itineraries only, place the PNR on Q35
(processed Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5 PM EST). Turn around time for fare request is 3 business days.

Area of Travel

  • Domestic - Roundtrip or one way travel valid on published routings from the United States to/from Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada.
  • International (Exit United States) - Roundtrip travel valid on published international routings from the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada to Europe, Middle East, India, Africa, Asia, Mexico, Caribbean, Australia and Latin American destinations served by Delta Air Lines.

Combination

Combinations permitted. May book different class of service outbound and return.

Ticket Validity

  • Not Valid Before - 1 day before departure
  • Not Valid After - 30 days after departure

Valid for travel January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010. All travel must be completed by December 31, 2010.

Changes

  • Prior to ticketing - No restrictions
  • After ticketing
    • No charge for First and Business Class
    • Domestic travel - $75 change fee applies (within the 48 contiguous United States and travel to/from Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands)
    • International travel - $100 change fee applies (between the United States, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, India, Caribbean, Australia and Latin America)

Note: Any difference in fare resulting in an increase must be collected from the passenger.

Refunds

  • Refund Requests - Fee applies to all tickets (First, Business, and Economy Class)
    • Domestic travel - $75 fee applies after ticketed (within the 48 contiguous United States and travel to/from Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands)
    • International travel - $100 fee applies after ticketed (between the United States, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, India, Caribbean, Australia and Latin America)

Transferability

Tickets are non-transferable. Must present a valid IATAN identification card at all times when traveling.

Tickets are self-ticketed by Delta authorized travel agency and must be validated for travel on Delta. Travel on carriers other than Delta must be ticketed separately. All travel is subject to Delta’s conditions of carriage. Failure to adhere to to the terms and conditions of the program will result in debit memos, up to and including cancellation of ticket appointment.
