Dress Code

Posted: June 5, 2008

The standard dress code for reduced rate travel applies for U.S. and international travel and for all classes of services (coach/economy, first/business). The guideline is based on respect for our mutual customers and you; therefore, when traveling the travelers’ overall appearance should be well-groomed, neat, clean, safe and respectful, from head to toe.

The guideline is valid for travel on Delta and Delta Connection carriers. Travelers connecting to other airlines will need to adhere to the dress codes of that carrier.

Appropriate Attire (all classes of travel)

  • Overall appearance should be well-groomed, neat, clean, safe and respectful, from head to toe.
  • Clothing should be respectful of fellow passengers.
  • Shoes are required unless the travel agent or companion* is not able to wear footwear due to a disability or physical condition.

Not Appropriate Attire (all classes of travel)

  • Passenger that is (or appears to be) intoxicated
  • Passenger whose dress violates public decency laws and or community standards (examples include clothing that is sheer or inappropriately revealing or is designated as sleepwear, underwear, or swim attire)
  • Bare feet
  • Clothing that is excessively dirty, stained or torn
  • Clothing that is vulgar, offensive or suggestive

* Companion travel valid for international travel only
