Mileage Calculation
Delta Air Lines calculates
mileage as follows:
- Between the origin and
the final destination.
- Nonstop and multiple-stop
through flights are credited from the origin to the final destination.
- Voluntary plane changes
in lieu of nonstop or direct flights to accumulate mileage are not permitted.
- Connecting flights are
credited by segment.
- Delta reserves the right
to limit credit for an itinerary to the number of connecting flights actually
traveled, or to the maximum number of segments shown in Delta's published
schedule for a connection between two cities, whichever is less.
Entering Mileage Credit
Delta has enhanced the
mileage crediting of the Frequent Flyer Program (FFP). This enhancement permits
the messaging acceptance of only one (1) FFP mileage account number, simplifying
the ability for customers to receive SkyMiles/OA FFP Mileage credit. Travel
agencies should only enter the mileage program of choice into the customer’s
reservation ensuring that the preferred mileage program receives the credit.
This enhancement is in
line with Delta’s airline partners ensuring that the chosen or preferred
program receives the mileage credit, as the customer requested.
- Enter the identification
number into the reservations record using the FQTV entry: 3SSR FQTV Delta
HK/DL0123456789-Smith/Robert.
Note: The name in the SSR
FQTV must match the name exactly as shown in the PNR and
on the SkyMiles account ID card.
For SkyMiles mileage credit
discrepancies, please contact the Global Service Center for additional
assistance.
