Applying For a Refund

Even if your ticket is not refundable, you might still be able to cancel your itinerary. Check to see if your itinerary qualifies for Risk-free Cancellation. If so, you can go to Itineraries, quickly cancel your itinerary, and receive a full refund.

If you have a refundable or unrestricted ticket, you have several options for obtaining a refund.

Delta will issue refunds for eligible tickets within seven business days for domestic credit card purchases. The refund may take up to two billing cycles before it is reflected on your credit card statement. Refunds for eligible tickets purchased with cash or check will be processed within 20 business days.

Some fees or penalties may apply to your refund, especially on tickets for international travel.

If you purchased a refundable or unrestricted e>ticket with a credit card in U.S. or Canadian currency, you can request your refund online. Please complete all the fields below and click Go.

By Phone

If you purchased an e>ticket with a credit card, you can request your refund by phone.

  • If you live in the U.S. or Canada, call Delta Reservations at 800-221-1212.
  • If you live outside the U.S. or Canada, call your local Reservations office.

By Mail

If you have a paper ticket, you can submit the unused portions of your ticket to the Delta Passenger Refunds Department at the following addresses:

  • your full name, address and daytime phone number
  • a brief explanation of why you are requesting a refund
  • the unused portion (coupons) of your ticket booklet

  • any other documentation you feel necessary for consideration of your request

At a Delta Ticket Office

If you have a paper ticket or e>ticket purchased with any form of payment, you can get a refund at any Delta Airport Ticket Office or City Ticket Office.
