Transfer Miles is an online program that allows SkyMiles members to transfer miles from their SkyMiles account to other SkyMiles members' accounts. Simply complete the Transfer Miles Recipient Information to begin a transaction. When prompted, enter the SkyMiles number and name of the individual(s) to whom you wish to transfer your miles. Transfer Miles may only be donated and received by SkyMiles accounts that have been established for at least 10 days and have earned at least one mile since enrolling in the SkyMiles program.

Your Transfer Miles order can be charged to a valid American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, or UATP credit card.
How many miles can I transfer to one SkyMiles member?

Can I transfer miles to as many people as I wish?
You may transfer your miles to a maximum of four people in a single transaction. However, subject to the annual limit of 150,000 transferred miles, you can complete as many transactions as desired.
Can I transfer as many miles as I wish in a calendar year?
Any SkyMiles member may transfer up to 150,000 miles from his/her SkyMiles account in a calendar year. All Transfer Miles transactions are final and cannot be reversed or refunded.
What information about the recipient do I need to transfer miles?
You will need the recipient's SkyMiles number and name. Once you have completed your purchase, the miles will instantly post to the recipient's SkyMiles account for the majority of transactions although please allow up to 24 hours for the miles to post.
How does the recipient receive the Transfer Miles I just sent to their account?
When you enter the recipient's name and SkyMiles number, the miles will instantly be deposited into the member's account in the majority of transactions, although please allow up to 24 hours for the miles to post. If you supplied the recipient's email address they will receive an email notification of your generous transfer of miles. If you do not provide the recipient's email address, you will need to advise them of your transfers.
How much does it cost to transfer miles?
Standard transaction terms are documented on the Transfer Miles landing page. Once a mileage transfer is requested and the credit card is charged, the fees and the Transfer Mile amounts are not refundable.
How many Transfer Miles may an individual SkyMiles member receive?

Is there a limit on the number of miles that may be transferred out of an account?
A maximum of 150,000 miles may be transferred out of any SkyMiles account per calendar year.
Can I transfer miles without knowing the recipient's SkyMiles number?
No. You will need to know the recipient's SkyMiles number to transfer miles into their account.
What if the recipient has already reached the 300,000-mile per year maximum?
You will not be able to complete your transaction for any recipients that have already received 300,000 miles from the Transfer Miles program.
How can my recipient enroll in SkyMiles?
Your recipient can enroll in the SkyMiles program online at delta.com and immediately receive a SkyMiles account number. It's free to join.
How quickly can miles add up to Award Travel?
Miles can quickly add up to Award Travel. Roundtrip Award Tickets within the United States are available for as few as 25,000 miles. Will Transfer Miles help my recipient qualify for Medallion ® status?
No. Transfer miles do not count toward Medallion ® status qualification.
Can I transfer miles if I live in Canada?
Yes, the Mileage Transfer Program is a worldwide program that is available to Canadian residents. The transaction will be subject to applicable taxes.

If I transfer miles, will there be Award Tickets available?
Award Travel seat inventory is dynamic and always changing. Delta cannot guarantee availability. Travel to prime destinations during peak periods may require unrestricted inventory which requires additional miles to secure those seats. Award Travel availability depends on the flight, the date of travel, the expected demand for the flight, the season, the destination, and various other factors.
