Yes, your miles are safe. All former WorldPerks miles have been or will be transferred into your SkyMiles account.
You should contact the Delta SkyMiles Center at 1(800) 323-2323 or the number on the back of your membership card. Former WorldPerks Service Center numbers will now support the SkyMiles program. Find SkyMiles contact information.

Yes, SkyMiles Medallion and former WorldPerks Elite members will continue to be eligible to receive complimentary upgrades on select Delta and Northwest-operated flights. For specific upgrade policies please visit delta.com.
You can learn about new 2010 Medallion benefits at delta.com/newskymiles. Other than that, your Medallion benefits will change very little, if at all. For an update on the integration process and what's coming in October, please visit delta.com/what2expect. For a complete list of all current Medallion membership benefits, visit delta.com.
It is not necessary to open a SkyMiles account. WorldPerks accounts are now transferred into the SkyMiles program. You will be notified of your new SkyMiles account number by email or U.S. postal mail and will receive your new number and credentials during the first few weeks in October. Until then, you can continue using your WorldPerks number without any issues.
Yes, all Delta and Northwest tickets are still valid. There is no need to reissue or make any other changes to your existing tickets unless your plans have changed.
Yes. SkyMiles members will continue to earn miles with all existing partners. Visit delta.com for a complete list of all SkyMiles mileage partners.
Delta Award fees are outlined on delta.com. View Award fees for more information.
During the first few weeks in October, we will begin sending your SkyMiles account number by both email and USPS mail. Begin using your new SkyMiles number immediately to ensure a smooth airport experience. Make sure your travel agent and partner companies have your new number.
All members with email were sent their new SkyMiles number. It may take a few weeks for members to receive their credentials in the mail. If you have not received an email or have not subscribed for email communication, you can go to delta.com/forgotskymiles for more information.
Customers who had both a SkyMiles and WorldPerks account had the option earlier in the year to specify which accounts they wanted to combine. These accounts were then considered "linked" and were automatically combined during program integration. This tool was available through August 31, 2009.
All account information will be consolidated into your SkyMiles account. Your current year qualification miles, segments, lifetime miles and redeemable miles should already be combined, and your full account history will be merged shortly thereafter. If your SkyMiles Medallion status moves to a higher tier as a result of the merge, you will receive new credentials.
While you should begin using either your new or existing SkyMiles account number, if a booking includes your former WorldPerks number, you will receive the benefits associated with your SkyMiles status and mileage will be credited to your SkyMiles account.
No, any previously confirmed upgrades will be honored. Only future requests that have not been confirmed will be impacted.
No, both the Delta and the Northwest systems will be able to recognize your former WorldPerks account to receive elite benefits and earn miles.
Due to the significant challenges and resources required to integrate two programs on very different platforms, we are not able to develop this functionality for Delta at this time; however, a similar Pay with Miles program for eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Cardmembers is available to purchase tickets with a combination of miles and money. Once total integration of the two airlines is completed, we will revisit the program and development of this option.
Yes. For members who did not have a linked SkyMiles account, your elite qualifying miles and current elite status have been transitioned to your new SkyMiles account.
For members who linked their SkyMiles and WorldPerks accounts prior to merge, all your Elite Qualifying Miles and segments are now consolidated with your Medallion Qualification Miles and segments. Your balance should currently reflect your combined total and new Medallion status.
If you recently received a SkyMiles credentials package from Delta, please know that data was pulled on September 1st. The credentials package you received was based on your status as of that time. If your status has changed, please allow 4 weeks for new credentials to arrive. You don't need to do anything, and you will receive a new credentials package automatically if there is a status change in your account.
For members who only had a former WorldPerks account that was transitioned into a new SkyMiles account, you can continue to use the PIN you established with your former WorldPerks account.
For members who linked a former WorldPerks account with an existing SkyMiles account, you will need to use your SkyMiles PIN for your consolidated account. If you attempt to log into a Northwest channel with your 9 or 12 digit previous WorldPerks number, you will need to use the PIN that was established for that WorldPerks account.
Most members are able to see their former WorldPerks account tracking history in their new SkyMiles account.
However, for members who linked a SkyMiles and WorldPerks account prior to October 1st, your account history from both accounts is currently being combined into your SkyMiles account. You will receive an email notifying you when it has been completed.
Please note your redeemable mileage balance and Medallion Qualification miles are already consolidated, and this will not impact your ability to use your account, redeem miles or accrue miles. In the interim, all former WorldPerks activity will still be accessible by logging into nwa.com with your former WorldPerks 9 or 12 digit account number.
The mileage deposit of your WorldPerks miles into your new SkyMiles account is considered qualifying activity and will extend your mileage expiration date for 24 months. Moving forward, as long as you have any qualifying earning or redemption activity in your SkyMiles account within a 24-month period, your miles will never expire.
While the loyalty programs have merged into one, we will still be operating as two airlines (Delta and Northwest) with two separate systems. Shortly after merging the two loyalty programs, we will do all possible to modify existing bookings to change the WorldPerks number to your SkyMiles numbers. However since this may take a few weeks to complete, it may be necessary to use the account number that was used when your flight was booked. For example, if your flight was booked prior to October 1, 2009 with your WorldPerks account number, you may need to enter your previous 9 or 12 digit WorldPerks number to access your reservation.
Yes. If you received Systemwide Upgrades prior to the merging of WorldPerks into SkyMiles, you can still use your upgrade. Since the upgrade was issued in the Northwest system, it will be necessary to continue to book your upgrade via nwa.com or Northwest Reservations.
While it is recommended that your travel agent update your profile with your SkyMiles number, if your previous WorldPerks number is added to your booking, all activity will be recognized and your miles will be tracked in your SkyMiles account.
Existing Northwest, Delta and partner airline reservations that include your WorldPerks number will still earn SkyMiles mileage credit and, if you are an Elite member, you will enjoy your benefits (upgrades, select seating, etc) under either number. The same holds true for non-airline partners. We will ensure the credit is captured in the correct SkyMiles account.
If you have a previously issued WorldPerks Award that was booked via nwa.com or Northwest Reservations, any changes, reissues or cancellation will need to be done either at nwa.com or through Northwest Reservations.
Yes. If your membership was established with your WorldPerks account prior to October 1st, your lounge status will be reflected in your SkyMiles account.
nwa.com will re-direct members to delta.com for Delta Sky Club renewals. Members can also renew their membership with a Delta Sky Club agent.
All club membership renewals will need to be completed using your SkyMiles account number.
We've added unlimited, complimentary companion upgrades for former Silver and Gold WorldPerks Elites and have modified the Platinum Ellite companion upgrade clearance window to mirror the existing SkyMiles window. These companion upgrades are available on both Delta and Northwest flights. The upgrade for both the Medallion member and the companion will clear within 12 hours if they are booked in the same passenger record and an upgrade is available. More information is available at delta.com.
Yes. If you received Systemwide Upgrades prior to the merging of WorldPerks into SkyMiles, you can still use your upgrade. Since the upgrade was issued in the Northwest system, it will be necessary to continue to book your upgrade via NWA.com or Northwest Reservations.
Flight miles and Medallion Qualification Miles will no longer post immediately. It may take up to 24 hours after departure for these items to post to your SkyMiles account.
Customers who linked their WorldPerks and SkyMiles accounts will have their lifetime miles combined over the next month. The primary account data that is necessary for determining tier status, mileage redemption and Million Miler status were combined first and is currently displayed when accessing your account information. This includes current and lifetime EQMs/MQMs, segments, and redeemable miles Informational items such as your tracking history and total lifetime miles are the remaining items that are currently being consolidated and will be finalized over the next month. We will send you an email once completed. Please note Million Miler status is determined by lifetime MQMs and EQMs.
Million Miler balances and status are based on total Medallion Qualification Miles earned over a member's lifetime. This is different than Lifetime Miles, which counted all redeemable miles, and not Medallion Qualification Miles. Members who reach one million Medallion Qualification Miles are currently awarded complimentary annual Silver Medallion status. Members who reach two million Medallion Qualification Miles are currently awarded complimentary annual Gold Medallion status. Members who reach four million plus Medallion Qualification Miles are currently awarded complimentary annual Platinum Medallion status.
In late September, the mailing of credential packages was temporarily suspended to prepare for the SkyMiles/WorldPerks integration and the complex database transactions associated with it. Now that those integration transactions are complete, we plan to resume mailing credential packages around October 26, 2009. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Those benefits remain, but only new Platinum Medallion members need and will receive bag tags or Platinum Systemwide Upgrade Certificates. For example, a WorldPerks member who was a Platinum elite before the program integration in early October will only receive a new Platinum Medallion card because he or she already received Upgrade Certificates and bag tags; however, a WorldPerks member who became a Platinum Medallion member with the merging of his or her SkyMiles and WorldPerks accounts will receive a new card, Upgrade Certificates and bag tags.
The mailing of replacement membership cards was temporarily suspended in late September to prepare for the SkyMiles/WorldPerks integration and the complex database transactions associated with it. Now that those integration transactions are complete, we plan to resume mailing replacement cards around October 26, 2009. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The mailing of PIN reminders was temporarily suspended in late September to prepare for the SkyMiles/WorldPerks integration and the complex database transactions associated with it. Now that those integration transactions are complete, we plan to resume mailing PIN reminders around October 26, 2009. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
