What's changing with the Delta SkyMiles frequent flyer programs?

The SkyMiles and former WorldPerks programs are now consolidated into one best-in-class loyalty program. WorldPerks accounts have become SkyMiles accounts and miles and status have been transferred. What happens if I already have a SkyMiles account but did not link my WorldPerks to my SkyMiles and now have more than one SkyMiles account?

If you have more than one SkyMiles account, you can request to merge your SkyMiles accounts online. All your account information, including account balances and status will be consolidated into one account. Go to delta.com/mergeaccounts to make your request.


What phone number should I call for account information?

You should contact the Delta SkyMiles Center at 800-323-2323 or the number on the back of your membership card. Former WorldPerks Service Center numbers now support the SkyMiles program. Find SkyMiles contact information.


Will I continue to receive my monthly account information, summary, and statements?

Yes, Delta sends mileage summaries to those customers who have opted to receive their statement via email.


I have an upcoming Award trip purchased on Northwest. Are my ticket and trip still valid?

Yes, all Northwest-issued Award Tickets are still valid. There is no need to reissue or make any other changes to your existing tickets unless your plans have changed.


When will I receive my SkyMiles number and when can I begin using it?

We have sent out new SkyMiles account numbers by both email and USPS mail. Begin using your new SkyMiles number immediately to ensure a smooth airport experience. Make sure your travel agent and partner companies have your new number.


What should I do if I haven't received my new SkyMiles number?

All members with email were sent their new SkyMiles number. If you have not received an email or have not subscribed for email communication, you can go to delta.com/forgotskymiles for more information.


What will happen to my bookings if I continue to use my WorldPerks number after integration?

While you should begin using either your new or existing SkyMiles account number, if a booking includes your former WorldPerks number, you will receive the benefits associated with your SkyMiles status and mileage will be credited to your SkyMiles account.


I already received an upgrade on Alaska Airlines for my future flight. Will I be downgraded into coach?

No, any previously confirmed upgrades will be honored. Only future requests that have not been confirmed will be impacted.


Why was PerkChoice eliminated? Will it be reinstated?

Due to the significant challenges and resources required to integrate two programs on very different platforms, we are not able to develop this functionality for Delta at this time; however, a similar Pay with Miles program for eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Cardmembers is available to purchase tickets with a combination of miles and money. Once total integration of the two airlines is completed, we will revisit the program and development of this option.


Will my elite status be recognized?

Yes, as long as you use your SkyMiles number with bookings you will receive your Medallion benefits.


I recently qualified for Medallion status but still haven't received a credentials package, including my card and bag tags. Why?

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. For those members who qualified for Medallion status in December of 2009, you can expect to receive your new credentials in late February.


What PIN do I need to use?

For members who only had a former WorldPerks account that was transitioned into a new SkyMiles account, you can continue to use the PIN you established with your former WorldPerks account.

For members who linked a former WorldPerks account with an existing SkyMiles account, you will need to use your SkyMiles PIN for your consolidated account. If you attempt to log into a Northwest channel with your 9 or 12 digit previous WorldPerks number, you will need to use the PIN that was established for that WorldPerks account.


What will be the expiration policy of my WorldPerks miles once they are transferred to my SkyMiles account?

The mileage deposit of your WorldPerks miles into your new SkyMiles account was considered qualifying activity and extended your mileage expiration date for 24 months. Moving forward, as long as you have any qualifying earning or redemption activity in your SkyMiles account within a 24-month period, your miles will never expire.


What number do I need to use when checking in online or at an airport kiosk?

Your SkyMiles number should be used.


Will I be able to use my Systemwide Upgrades issued by WorldPerks?

Yes. All former Northwest issued system wide upgrade certificates have been converted to a Delta certificate and are redeemable via Delta Reservations or delta.com.


What account number will my travel agency need to use?

While it is recommended that your travel agent update your profile with your SkyMiles number, if your previous WorldPerks number is added to your booking, all activity will be recognized and your miles will be tracked in your SkyMiles account.


Will I get mileage credit for previously booked flights that include my former WorldPerks number?

Existing Northwest, Delta and partner airline reservations that include your former WorldPerks number will still earn SkyMiles mileage credit and, if you were an Elite WorldPerks member, you will enjoy your benefits (upgrades, select seating, etc) under either number. The same holds true for non-airline partners. We will ensure the credit is captured in the correct SkyMiles account.


What do I need to do if I want to reissue or redeposit a WorldPerks Award?

All previously issued WorldPerks award tickets have been converted into Delta SkyMiles tickets, thus you may contact Delta Reservations for changes.


Will my Delta Sky Club status be reflected in my SkyMiles account?

Yes. If your membership was established with your former WorldPerks account prior to October 1, 2009, your lounge status will be reflected in your SkyMiles account.


Can I use my former WorldPerks account number to renew my Delta Sky Club membership?

All club membership renewals will need to be completed using your SkyMiles account number.


My flight activity did not post immediately, when will it post in my SkyMiles account?

Flight miles and Medallion Qualification Miles will no longer post immediately. It may take up to 24 hours after departure for these items to post to your SkyMiles account.


What happens to my WorldPerks lifetime miles?

Customers who linked their WorldPerks and SkyMiles accounts had their lifetime miles combined in October 2009. All miles, EQMs/MQMs, and lifetime miles have been consolidated in your account. Please note Million Miler status is determined by lifetime MQMs and EQMs.


How is Million Miler status determined?

Million Miler balances and status are based on total Medallion Qualification Miles earned over a member's lifetime. This is different than Lifetime Miles, which counted all redeemable miles, and not Medallion Qualification Miles. Members who reach one million Medallion Qualification Miles are currently awarded complimentary annual Silver Medallion status. Members who reach two million Medallion Qualification Miles are currently awarded complimentary annual Gold Medallion status. Members who reach four million plus Medallion Qualification Miles are currently awarded complimentary annual Platinum Medallion status.


I recently qualified for Medallion status but still haven't received a credential package, including my card and bag tags. Why?

In late September, the mailing of credential packages was temporarily suspended to prepare for the SkyMiles/WorldPerks integration and the complex database transactions associated with it. Now that those integration transactions are complete, we plan to resume mailing credential packages around October 26, 2009. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.


I received a new SkyMiles Platinum Medallion card in the mail, but the bag tags and Upgrade Certificates I have received in the past were not included with the card. Why? Have those benefits been discontinued?

Those benefits remain, but only new Platinum Medallion members need and will receive bag tags or Platinum Systemwide Upgrade Certificates. For example, a WorldPerks member who was a Platinum elite before the program integration in early October will only receive a new Platinum Medallion card because he or she already received Upgrade Certificates and bag tags; however, a WorldPerks member who became a Platinum Medallion member with the merging of his or her SkyMiles and WorldPerks accounts will receive a new card, Upgrade Certificates and bag tags.


I requested a replacement SkyMiles membership card and still haven't received it. Why?

The mailing of replacement membership cards was temporarily suspended in late September to prepare for the SkyMiles/WorldPerks integration and the complex database transactions associated with it. Now that those integration transactions are complete, we plan to resume mailing replacement cards around October 26, 2009. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.


I requested a PIN reminder notice and still haven't received it. Why?

The mailing of PIN reminders was temporarily suspended in late September to prepare for the SkyMiles/WorldPerks integration and the complex database transactions associated with it. Now that those integration transactions are complete, we plan to resume mailing PIN reminders around October 26, 2009. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
