If I apply for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express, can I choose to earn miles in the WorldPerks program?

No, miles earned with the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card will be earned in the SkyMiles program. As of early October, the Northwest Airlines® WorldPerks program officially merged into the SkyMiles program and SkyMiles is the sole loyalty program for Delta and Northwest.

Can I use my WorldPerks number when I apply for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card?

No, the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card can only be used with a SkyMiles account number. As of early October, the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks program officially merged into the SkyMiles program and SkyMiles is the sole loyalty program for Delta and Northwest. All former WorldPerks members are now SkyMiles members. If you are not already a SkyMiles member, you will automatically be enrolled in the SkyMiles program when you are approved for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card.

I have a WorldPerks Visa credit card. What will happen to that card in light of the merger?

You should have already been notified by the WorldPerks Visa credit card issuer of the exact date applicable to you, but as of now, WorldPerks Visa credit cards no longer allow charges or earn WorldPerks miles. If you wish to continue to earn miles with a credit card that will add to your existing miles balance from your former WorldPerks account, you must apply for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. Is the FlexPerks Visa credit card affiliated with Delta or Northwest?

No, the FlexPerks Visa card is not associated with, endorsed or sponsored by Delta, Northwest Airlines, or the WorldPerks program.

Will my WorldPerks Visa credit card automatically be converted to the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card?

No. Going forward, the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express is the official credit card of Delta and the SkyMiles program in the United States. For customers in Japan and the Philippines who have WorldPerks co-brand credit cards, these will be transitioned to Delta SkyMiles Credit Cards later in the year. SkyMiles Credit Cards are the only credit cards that offer mileage-earning opportunities with the SkyMiles program and a complete Delta experience with Award Travel opportunities throughout the world.

Are my miles safe?

Yes, your miles are safe, but as of now, WorldPerks Visa credit cards no longer allow charges or earn WorldPerks miles. If you wish to continue to earn miles with a credit card and enjoy all benefits of the combined Delta and Northwest you will need to apply for the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express. (Applicable only for U.S. issued credit cards.)

You can join the SkyMiles program by visiting delta.com/skymiles otherwise when you are approved for a Delta SkyMiles Credit Card you will automatically be enrolled into the SkyMiles program and assigned an account number

I already have a SkyMiles account. If I get a Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, will the miles that I earn be deposited into my existing SkyMiles account?

Yes, your miles will be deposited into your existing SkyMiles account provided that you enter your SkyMiles account number in the designated field on the credit card application.

I have a SkyMiles account number, but I forgot it. How can I obtain my account number?

If you've forgotten or misplaced your SkyMiles number, call 1(800) 323-2323 from within the U.S., the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and Canada.

Does Delta offer a debit card?

Yes, consumers and businesses now can earn miles on all purchases made with a new SunTrust SkyMiles Check Card, which launched in June. Cardholders earn miles for every purchase made with an authorized signature, and there is no mileage-earning cap.
