What information do I need to submit a lower fare claim?

  • Your SkyMiles number (if you have one)
  • Your confirmation number for your current itinerary on delta.com>
  • Dates of travel
  • Flight numbers
  • Origination and destination

How do I submit a claim?

Submit the Best Fare Guarantee Claim form. Complete all required fields and click “submit”.

When will Delta let me know if my claim is validated?

Delta will contact you via e-mail within 24 hours of receiving your claim.

How will my claim be validated?

Delta representatives will access the Web site where the lower fare was found and book the exact same itinerary currently booked at delta.com. If a lower total fare (including all taxes and fees) is found, the refund for the fare difference and the $100 TCV will be processed within 7 days.

How do I obtain my $100 travel voucher and refund?

Delta will send you a transportation credit number via e-mail that can be used for future travel with Delta. Your refund will be processed to the credit card used to purchase the ticket. Your credit card must have a U.S. billing address. Please allow up to two billing periods for this credit to appear in your account.

What if I find a lower total fare (including all taxes and fees) on delta.com for my same itinerary?

If you find a lower fare by 12 midnight Eastern Time on the same day you purchased your ticket at delta.com, you can access your itinerary via delta.com and click on the “Reissue” option. Your new fare will be ticketed and the refund for the difference in fares will be credited to your original form of payment. You will not be eligible for the $100 transportation voucher since the lower fare was found on delta.com for your exact same itinerary.

Is the Best Fare Guarantee only valid for tickets purchased at delta.com?

Yes, it does not apply to tickets purchased over the phone, through a travel agent or via any other ticketing channel.

What is the “booking class” and how do I find this information on my Delta ticket? How do I find this information on the lower fare itinerary I may have found on another website?

The booking class designates the type of fare you purchased and the cabin in which you purchased a seat. It will begin with a letter such as U, T, L, K, etc. and will usually be the first letter of the “Fare Code” or “Fare Basis Code.” An example of a booking class may be (L) and the fare basis code may be “LE7NR”. On the Delta ticket, you will find your booking class under the header “Flight and Cabin (Class)” and is located in the Trip Summary section after selecting your flights or under the “Fare Rules” section. Other websites may have this information under “Fare Rules and Restrictions” or “Fare Terms and Conditions” and can be located on the website prior to purchasing your ticket.

Travel may be on other airlines.
