  • Exclusively for SkyMiles® members with a Gold, Platinum, or Reserve Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express
  • No blackout dates or inventory restrictions, just look for flights marked as Pay with Miles eligible
  • Pay with Miles is flexible. Pay for all or part of the fare with miles — it's up to you

Lost Baggage

Checked Baggage

If your bag is lost in transit, we apologize for the inconvenience. Claim forms and other necessary information you will need can be found on our Delayed, Lost, or Damaged Baggage page.

Unchecked Items

If you've lost an unchecked item while onboard your Delta flight, in the Delta gate area or in a Delta Sky Club within the last 7 days, complete our lost item form and we'll do our best to return your item to you.

Passenger Refunds

To apply for a ticket refund or lost ticket application refund, follow the instructions below.

Ticket Refund

You can apply for a ticket refund online if your ticket is eligible.

You can call 800-847-0578 or within the metro Atlanta area or at an international location, 404-715-5417 Mon–Fri 8:00am–5:00pm (ET) (-5 GMT) to request:

  • Refund claim status
  • Lost ticket application status
  • Refund application instructions

Ticket copies and receipts

Receipts can be emailed via delta.com within 24 hours of last flight traveled.

  • Go to delta.com
  • Select My Trips
  • Type First Name, Last Name, and Confirmation # then click GO
  • Scroll down to Payment Details and click on Email Receipt
  • Enter email address, then click submit

If last flight was more than 24 hours ago:

Please send an email to ticketreceipt@delta.com and include the following information when requesting ticket copies or baggage receipts:

Ticket copy requests:
  • Passenger name
  • Ticket number (13-digit document number beginning with 006)
  • For ticket copy requests only – there is a $20.00 fee per ticket number, please include full credit card number, expiration date, and card holder name*
Baggage receipt requests:
  • Baggage document number (13-digit number beginning with 00682 or 00625)
    ( The baggage document number can be found on your credit card statement)
  • Baggage receipts are provided at no cost
  • If you don't know your baggage document number, please include:
    1. Date of Transaction
    2. Origin Airport
    3. Type of Credit Card used to purchase (AX, VI, MC, DS) or Cash
    4. Passenger Name

*If you wish to pay for your ticket copy via personal check or money order, please send your written request to the address below and make your check or money order payable to Delta Air Lines:

Lost Ticket Application Refund

If you completed a lost ticket application, and have now found your paper tickets, you may be eligible for a refund of the processing fee. To learn more about policies and procedures, see lost tickets. The original ticket coupons must be returned prior to continuation of travel on a replacement ticket. You will need to return:

  • Original remaining coupons
  • Copy of the new ticket (if you plan to continue travel)
  • Copy of the lost ticket application
