Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) are used as a counter to determine SkyMiles Medallion status. MQMs can be earned through flight activity or SkyMiles partner activity. Medallion status can also be earned through the total number of segments flown. All paid fare classes eligible to earn MQMs count towards Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs):

• 25,000 MQMs or 30 MQSs achieves Silver Medallion status.
• 50,000 MQMs or 60 MQSs achieves Gold Medallion status.
• 75,000 MQMs or 100 MQSs achieves Platinum Medallion status.
• 125,000 MQMs or 140 MQSs achieves Diamond Medallion status.

The qualification time frame for Medallion status is from January 1 to December 31 of each year.

MQMs earned through flight activity are calculated based on distance traveled and fare class purchased on Delta, Delta Connection®, Delta Shuttle®, SkyTeam® partners, Alaska Airlines, GOL Airlines and Virgin Australia. MQSs are earned through flight activity on Delta, Delta Connection, Delta Shuttle, SkyTeam partners, Alaska Airlines, GOL Airlines and Virgin Australia. Each airline calculates elite status qualification differently. SkyMiles members do not earn MQMs or MQSs on Hawaiian Airlines, Malaysia Airlines or Olympic Air.

Delta Sky Club One-Day Passes: Please allow 2 - 4 weeks for delivery. One-day passes are fully transferable and are valid for twelve months from date of issue.

Travel/Retail Gift Card: Tiffany & Co. gift cards can only be shipped to a U.S. mailing address. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Delta Travel Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Within 48 hours an email will be sent with electronic certificate number including all terms and conditions for Delta Travel Voucher use.

Gifting Silver or Gold Medallion Status to a Companion: Gifted complimentary Medallion status will be effective within 2 weeks and membership credentials should arrive within 3 weeks. For selections made for 2012 Choice Benefits, companion status is good through February 28, 2013; for selections made for 2013 Choice Benefits, companion status is good through February 28, 2014; for selections made for 2014 Choice Benefits, companion status is good through February 28, 2015.

Terms & Conditions

Choice Benefits are effective immediately for members earning Diamond or Platinum Medallion status. Members who are awarded Diamond or Platinum Medallion status must fly a minimum of 14 or 8 Delta-marketed and -operated flights segments after status is awarded to be eligible for Choice Benefits, respectively.

Eligibility for Choice Benefits is based upon a status change to Platinum or Diamond Medallion within a given status year. Choice Benefits selections for 2012 status need to be made by February 28, 2013; selections for 2013 status need to be made by February 28, 2014; selections for 2014 status need to be made by February 28, 2015.

Medallion Complimentary Upgrades are subject to availability and may not be available on all flights or in all markets. Complimentary Upgrades are not available in markets that are serviced with BusinessElite® product. Complimentary Upgrades for Economy Award reservations and Pay with Miles will be upgraded to First Class beginning at the eligible Medallion tier window based on availability. Taxes (and if applicable, fees) for Award Travel are the responsibility of the passenger and must be paid at the time the ticket is booked. Award Travel seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or in all markets. Offers and benefits subject to change without notice.

Rollover benefit means Medallion Qualification Miles earned in 2012 above a member’s earned Medallion threshold level will roll over to 2013 and count toward 2014 Medallion status qualification. Members who receive complimentary or gifted Medallion status are ineligible for rollover MQMs unless they earn more MQMs than the gifted status requirement. For example, if a member is gifted Silver Medallion status in 2012 and also earns 30,000 MQMs in 2012, s/he will be able to roll over 5,000 MQMs since the Silver Medallion requirement is 25,000 MQMs. Please allow 6-8 weeks for fulfillment of Choice Benefits. For selections made for 2012 Choice Benefits, companion status is good through February 28, 2013; for selections made for 2013 Choice Benefits, companion status is good through February 28, 2014; selections for 2014 status need to be made by February 28, 2015.

Systemwide Upgrade Certificates

As part of Choice Benefits, Diamond and Platinum Medallions are eligible to select Systemwide Upgrade Certificates. There are a few rules and regulations around these upgrade certificates, so we’ve broken it down for you to make it easier to understand.

Systemwide Upgrade Certificates Redemption on Delta

• May be redeemed for the named Medallion member and up to one travel companion in the same reservation. The named member and the companion will each require a separate certificate.
• Valid for a one-way upgrade on Delta and certain Delta Connection® carrier operated flights.

Area of Travel and Fare Eligibility:

• Valid for use within or between the 50 United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Bermuda, and Mexico on published Economy class fares booked in Y, B, M, H, Q or K class. Valid for use between Asia, Central America, Europe, India, Australia, North America, South America, and Africa on published Economy class fares booked in Y, B or M class.

Booking:

• Medallion member must contact Delta to book the upgrade reservation.
• Seats are subject to availability and may not be available on all flights or in all markets.
• Waitlist for the upgrade is permitted and must be requested in advance.

Day of Departure:

• If a Medallion member and companion (if applicable) do not clear the waitlist prior to departure, they will be automatically added to the airport standby list at time of check-in and will be cleared at the gate if space is available.

Systemwide Upgrade Certificates Redemption on Partners

• Medallion member must contact Delta to book the upgrade reservation.
• Seats are subject to availability and may not be available on all flights or in all markets.
• Waitlist and standby not permitted.

Redemptions on KLM – Royal Dutch Airlines:

• Valid on all flights operated by KLM.
• One-way upgrade from published Economy fares in M, B, S or X class to Business class. Valid for travel through May 31, 2011.
• One-way upgrade from published Economy fares in Y, B, M or U class to Business class. Valid for travel on and after June 01, 2011.

Redemptions on Air France:

• Valid on most transatlantic flights operated by Air France.¹
• One-way upgrade from Economy when booked in Y,B, K or M class to Premium Voyageur class. Valid for travel through May 31, 2011.

• One-way upgrade from Premium Voyageur to Business when booked in S,A or W class. Valid for travel through May 31, 2011.

Terms & Conditions

1. Upgrade Offer: This certificate is valid for upgraded one-way travel on all Delta Air Lines operated flights worldwide, including connecting flights, between the origin and destination of a ticketed fare for the named Medallion member or a travel companion pursuant to the terms and conditions of this offer. Only one companion per Medallion member may be upgraded on each flight segment. Any stopovers are governed by the fare rule, and an additional certificate will be required for broken fares. All rules of the fare purchased will apply except as changed by this offer. SkyMiles mileage credit based upon purchased fare class. Space is limited and subject to availability. Seats may not be available on all flights or in all markets.

2. Expiration Date: Certificate expires twelve months from date of issue. Certificate may not be extended, reissued or returned for credit under any circumstances.

3. Refunds & Cash Value: This certificate is nonrefundable and has no cash value. Certificate will be deemed fully used upon surrender and will not be honored retroactively or in connection with the exchange of any wholly or partially unused ticket. Ticket refunds are permitted only pursuant to the rules of the fare purchased. Any full or partial refund of the underlying coach-fare ticket after upgrade will render this certificate void.

4. Not Combinable: This certificate may not be combined with any other promotional or discount offers or SkyMiles program awards. Valid only with a published qualifying fare.

5. Valid Carrier: Valid only on Delta Air Lines, Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and certain Delta Connection carrier operated flights. If a non-permitted carrier accepts this certificate, such carrier agrees to pay Delta, within 45 days of certificate acceptance, the sum of $1000USD per certificate accepted, and Delta shall not be liable to such carrier for any reason whatsoever.

6. Applicable Routes: North America: Valid for use on one-way travel on published fares and routings within or between the 50 United States, Canada, the Caribbean, Bermuda and Mexico. International: Valid for use on one-way travel on published fares and routings worldwide. Valid only for travel on routings with a published upgradeable coach class fare. For travel on KLM: Valid for use on one-way travel systemwide. For travel on Air France: Valid on one way travel between North America and Europe operated by Air France equipped with Premium Voyageur cabin. Air France flights operated by 747 equipment are not applicable.

7. Applicable Fare Classes: For travel within North America, certificate may be used to upgrade only on published coach fares booked in Y, B, M, H, Q or K class. Certificate may not be used to upgrade other published coach fares, including fares booked in L, U, T or E class. For international travel, certificate may be used to upgrade only on published coach fares booked in Y, B or M class. Certificate may not be used to upgrade other published coach fares, including fares booked in H, Q, K, L, U, T or E class. For travel on KLM this certificate may be used to upgrade only on published fares in Y, B, M or U class. For travel on AF, this certificate may be used to upgrade to Premium Voyageur cabin only on coach fares booked in Y, B, or M class. Upgrade to business class cabin on Premium Voyageur fares booked in W, or S.

8. Upgrade Reservations and Ticketing: Upgradeable coach class ticket must be purchased according to the applicable fare rules. After booking coach class tickets eligible for upgrade, the Medallion member whose name appears on the certificate must contact Delta to book the upgrade reservation for the member and, if applicable, his or her travel companion. Upgrade reservations must be booked in "G" or "Z" class on DL, reservations must be booked in "O" or "Z" on KL and reservations on AF Premium Voyageur must be booked in "W" or "S". Seats are subject to limited availability and may not be available on all flights or in all markets. Once confirmed, boarding pass can only be issued by the operating carrier on day of departure. Tickets must be validated for travel on Delta. Travel on carriers other than Delta, when permitted, must be ticketed separately. Upgrade reservations on Air France or KLM operated flights must be booked by Delta a minimum of one day before the departure.

9. Reservation Waitlist: If the upgrade is not available at the time of request, a Medallion member and/or travel companion holding confirmed coach class reservations on a flight may request to be placed on the upgrade waitlist. Passengers on waitlist will be accommodated according to Delta's priority rules, which Delta reserves the right to change at any time. Waitlist is not available on Air France or KLM operated flights.

10. Airport Standby: If an upgrade for the Medallion member and companion (if applicable) is not confirmed from the reservation waitlist at least three hours prior to departure, then the Medallion member and companion may request to be placed on the Airport Standby List, provided that request is made no less than 60 minutes prior to flight departure. Passengers on the Airport Standby List will be accommodated according to Delta's priority rules, which Delta reserves the right to change at any time. Airport standby is not available on Air France or KLM operated flights.

11. Flight Irregularities: In the event of flight cancellation or itinerary change, previously confirmed upgrades are subject to cancellation.

12. SkyMiles: Mileage accrued based on fare purchased.

13. Transferability: Certificate may be used only to upgrade tickets for travel by the Medallion member or one companion in the same reservation and confirmed in the same cabin as that member. Each person in the reservation requires a certificate for a one-way upgrade. Certificate may not be transferred for cash or any other consideration.

14. Changes: Voluntary changes in reservations on ticketed itineraries are permitted only pursuant to the rules of the fare purchased, but upgrade is not guaranteed and will depend on availability and these terms and conditions. Where permitted, changes may require payment of a change fee and/or any difference in the applicable fare. Any refund or cancellation will result in the loss of the upgrade certificate. All reissues must be completed by Delta reservations. If you are re-accommodated on another carrier you will be seated in coach class.

15. Travel Companion Changes: Companions no longer traveling with the Medallion member after changing their itinerary are no longer eligible for upgrade pursuant to this certificate. The travel companion's reservation will be changed to reflect original coach class of service for the new itinerary.

16. Sale/Barter Prohibited: This certificate may not be sold or bartered. Delta reserves the right to terminate the SkyMiles account and/or deduct mileage from the account of any SkyMiles member who sells or barters this certificate, or who sells or barters mileage credit, vouchers, award certificates or award tickets. Improperly obtained certificates/tickets are VOID and will be confiscated. Persons trying to use such tickets must pay the applicable fare to Delta to travel. Purchased or auctioned certificates are subject to confiscation and travel will not be permitted.

17. Other Terms & Conditions Apply: This certificate and transportation pursuant to it are subject to all terms and conditions of Delta's contract of carriage, fare rules, rules and regulations and the SkyMiles Membership Guide (PDF) and Program Rules. Any tax liability or government-imposed fees are the responsibility of the user. For certain destinations, additional taxes may apply for travel in business class. Copies of Delta's current contract of carriage and the SkyMiles Membership Guide (PDF) and Program Rules are available at delta.com.

18. Rule Changes: Delta reserves the right to change its contract of carriage, fare rules, rules and regulations and the SkyMiles Memberbership Guide (PDF) and Program Rules at any time and without notice. Without limitation, Delta reserves the right to modify or eliminate the Systemwide Upgrade Certificate program or change the rules for certificate usage. This certificate is the property of Delta Air Lines and must be surrendered or returned upon request.

19. No Replacement: Lost, stolen or otherwise destroyed certificates are void and will not be replaced.

Special Check-in Privileges

Medallion® members have access to designated, BusinessElite®/Business Class or First Class check-in areas at most airports where Delta offers this service. SkyMiles members can check in for a domestic flight and print a boarding pass via delta.com up to 24 hours before a flight's scheduled departure. Also, SkyMiles members traveling on a Delta ticket for a domestic flight can use our self-service kiosks in more than 80 airports nationwide to quickly check in for a flight or standby for an upgrade. Kiosks also allow you to check baggage, select or change seat assignments, change your flight, provide for multi-party check-in, add your SkyMiles number to your itinerary, print a receipt, and more.

Security Lines for Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallions

Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion members have access to frequent traveler security lines in select U.S. domestic airports. To use these lines, show your Medallion card along with the appropriate boarding documents. For a list of cities that have these lines available, visit Frequent Traveler Security Lines. This benefit is subject to government security regulations and may be suspended at any time by government directive.

Online Check-in

Online Check-in allows you to check in for your flight from wherever you are using delta.com or the Fly Delta app from 24 hours to 30 minutes before your flight's departure. That means no waiting in line — just show your ID and printed delta.com boarding pass or eBoarding Pass at the security check point.

Priority Boarding

With our zone boarding process, Medallion members are invited to board early on most flights¹. This gives you more time to locate your seat and store your carry-ons before general boarding.

Via our Delta Sky Priority lane, all passengers in BusinessElite®, First, or Business Class will be invited to preboard. All Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion® members, SkyTeam ElitePlus customers, and Alaska Airlines® MVP® Gold members are then invited to board in Zone 1. Silver Medallion members and SkyTeam Elite customers can begin boarding in Zone 2 using the Sky Priority boarding lane when traveling in Economy Class.
