External Reissue Charge (ERC)

Effective April 3, 2006, Delta began collecting a reissue charge for reissuing tickets purchased through external ticketing sources.

The External Reissue Charge (ERC) applies to all tickets issued by an external source (traditional travel agencies, online agencies, SkyTeam and codeshare partners, other airline tickets) with a U.S. or Canadian point of sale (POS).

Customers who call Delta/KLM Reservations or go to a DL/KL airport location in the U.S. or Canada to change a booking originally purchased through an external ticketing source such as a traditional travel agency, online travel agency, another airline, WorldAgent Direct or on delta.com will incur an External Reissue Charge (ERC) of $50.00 USD/CAD. The fee is in addition to any administrative fee or additional fare collection. The ERC is nonrefundable and the charge is per ticket.

Only one External Reissue Charge is assessed per ticketed passenger. The fee applies to:

  • Voluntary changes to tickets issued through external ticketing sources
  • U.S. and Canada POS tickets issued through external ticketing sources
  • Domestic and International itineraries
  • Changes made on or after April 3, 2006 regardless of ticketing date
  • Each passenger in the passenger name record (PNR), regardless of SkyMiles status
  • Fare downgrades on agency tickets.
  • Delta Vacations

The fee will NOT apply to these voluntary change situations:

  • Same day confirmed transactions
  • IROP or schedule change situations
  • SkyMiles upgrade reissues
  • Tickets originally issued by Delta Reservations, a City Ticket Office, at the airport ticket counter or via delta.com
  • Tickets reissued on delta.com
  • Military or government fares
