Refund Commission Policy

Updated: May 24, 2010

As a reminder, on March 14, 2002, Delta discontinued paying base commission for tickets purchased in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands for travel to/from all worldwide destinations. This policy change did not affect Delta’s base commission policy for tickets purchased outside the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Travel agencies ticketing against an active Delta Agency Program continued to receive base commission payments, regardless of ticketing location. In addition, travel agencies were also provided the opportunity to request back end commission, by completing the Retroactive Commission Form, if commission was not taken at the point of sale (POS).

Retroactive Commission Request

Effective immediately and with contract re-negotiations, the commission policy for claiming commission has been modified. When ticketing against a point-of-sale commission program, eligible accounts within the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin must claim commission at time of ticketing. Retroactive commission may no longer be claimed and use of the Retroactive Commission Form (Sales Summary Adjustment Request Form 1282) will be discontinued.

To view details of the commission policy please refer to the Commission - Qualification Terms section of the contract terms and conditions. For questions regarding your Agency Programs, please consult with your Agency Travel Manager or Delta Representative.
