Agency PNRS and Tickets

PNRS for travel between February 20, 2013 and February 26 that contain “G/Z” segments will not be affected in Phase 2.

On February 20, PNRs that contain “G/Z” segments for flights departing on or after February 27, 2013, will be rebooked into “R” and “O” class as applicable.

PNRs with DL (Delta-marketed and Delta-operated) segments in G or Z

  • These flights will not be rebooked using the normal schedule change process.  A TTY message with the new classes of service will be sent to the agency PNR which will rebook the “G/Z” segments to “R/O” as applicable.
  • Previous” G/Z” segments will reflect HX status and new “ R/O” segments will reflect HS or TK status based on GDS requirements.
  • Affected agency PNRs and tickets will go through an internal Delta ticket revalidation process:
  • The following SSR OTHS will be added to all PNRs: SSR OTHS DL UPG CERT BKG CLS CHG TKT REISSUE REQ (SSR will include flight number day/month/boarding city)
    • Most tickets will successfully complete the revalidation process and the passenger will be check-in ready. Although the Delta revalidation process does not require the ticket to be reissued to allow successful check-in, agencies may wish to reissue the ticket to keep it in sync with the PNR.  Please see Ticket Revalidation and Reissue section for reissue details.
  • Certain agency PNRs and tickets may fail Delta’s revalidation process and will require the ticket to be reissued.
    • An additional SSR will be added to these PNRs as noted to indicate agency action is required: SSR OTHS   AGCY TKT REISSUE REQUIRED - DL CLASS CHG
    • Rebooked PNRs will automatically drop onto an agency queue. Agencies should accept the new flights and reissue the ticket. Please see Ticket Revalidation and Reissue section for reissue details.

PNRs with DL-marketed KL-operated segments in Z Class will be rebooked to KL flights in O class

  • Will not be rebooked  the normal schedule change process but will be manually rebooked by Delta using the following process:
    • Delta will rebook the DL*KL operated flight(s) in Z to the KL prime flight in “O” class and cancel the DL-marketed flight.
    • SSRs will be added to the PNR as noted:
      • SSR OTHS REBOOKED DUE TO DL CLASS CHANGE Z TO O
      • SSR OTHS TICKET REISSUE REQUIRED
      • SSR OTHS PROTECTED ON “NEW FLIGHT INFORMATION” ( Example: REBOOKED KL689O/16DEC AMSCDG)
    • Rebooked PNRs will automatically drop onto an agency queue. Agencies should accept the new flights and reissue the ticket. Please see Ticket Revalidation and Reissue section for reissue details.

Travel Agency Instructions and Waiver Policy for Reissue

Ticket Revalidation and Reissue

In order for ownership of the PNR and ticket to remain with the booking agency, Delta is providing the following waiver policy to assist travel agencies in reissuing tickets for reasons noted:

  • PNRs that  failed Delta’s revalidation process
  • PNRs requiring reissue due to the rebook from DL-marketed KL-operated Z class  to KL prime in O class
  • To assist travel agencies should they wish to reissue to sync the PNR and ticket.

Waiver Policy

The travel agent should first accept the segment status changes that appear on the face of the PNR and then follow these guidelines:

  • Effective for tickets issued DL 006 on or before:                February 20, 2013
  • Tickets must be reissued on or before:                                  March 8, 2013
  • Valid for flights with travel dates on or after:                    February 27, 2013
  • Valid only for PNRs rebooked by Delta from G/ Z class to R/O; including DL-marketed KL-operated flights rebooked to KL prime in O class
  • Required Documentation - Waiver code: 52BCA must be placed on reissued ticket
  • Waiver code placement
    • If no ticket designator is applicable, the waiver code is to be placed in the ticket designator field
    • If a ticket designator applies, place the waiver code in the tour code box
    • If the tour code box is not available, place the waiver code in the endorsement field.
  • Waiver is not valid for un-ticketed bookings

Please note: Tickets can be reissued more than once using the same waiver code as long as the PNR meets all of the requirements listed above.

IMPORTANT: Agency tickets that have failed Delta’s revalidation process and require reissue, but are not reissued by the agency prior to 72 hours of flight departure, will be reissued by Delta to allow the customer’s  PNR and ticket to be check-in ready. If Delta processes the reissue, Delta will take ownership of the ticket.

Voluntary Changes

Delta Revalidated Tickets

Travel agents should first accept the segment status changes on the PNR following normal agency procedures, then proceed to make changes to the itinerary, reprice and reissue the ticket using normal travel agency procedures.

Delta Reissued Tickets

If the ticket has been reissued by Delta as noted above or for any other reason, travel agents may make changes to an itinerary, but Delta must process any subsequent ticket reissues.
