French CO2 Reporting Requirement
A recent French law requires airlines and other transportation providers to inform passengers of the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions associated with their travel. This requirement applies to itineraries beginning or ending in France or French territories, as described on page 172 of the French methodology. Airlines, travel agencies, tour operators, and third-party websites are responsible for informing their customers on affected itineraries.
Delta is in the process of creating an online “carbon calculator” that will comply with this French requirement. This is expected to be available for use on delta.com by mid-to-late December and all Delta ticketed passenger receipts will include a link to this calculator. Details about the Delta calculator will be provided as soon as they are available.
In the interim, the French government has provided an online calculator, which is currently only available in the French language. Customers may use the French CO2 calculator until the Delta calculator is available for use.
