Email Extra: Delta, KLM, Air France news for travel professionals

Air France recently unveiled its new Business class seat bed. Installation will begin summer on the long-haul fleet. The new seat was developed around the “3F” concept:

  • Full flat - a seat that reclines fully flat to 180° for perfect sleep
  • Full access - direct access to the aisle, regardless of the seat’s location in the cabin
  • Full privacy - the seat’s enveloping curves providing a true bubble of privacy in the sky

Other features of the new seat include:

  • 16” inch high definition touch screen for over 1,000 of entertainment in 12 languages
  • Secondary touch screen handset for seat controls, entertainment and flight information
  • International format electrical outlet and USB port
  • Padded headboard and adjustable soft leather headrest
  • Multiple storage areas close at hand
  • A new soft-touch duvet and extra-large pillow

In total, 2,102 seats will be gradually installed between June 2014 and summer 2016 on Air France’s fleet of 44 Boeing 777s. The new Business class seat is part of the “Best & Beyond” project that consists of over $676 million dollars of investment to place Air France at the best level in terms of products and services.
