Delta Offers Reminder on Delta’s Name Correction Policy
Delta is offering travel partners a reminder regarding name corrections as published in Delta’s Name Correction Policy. To avoid unintended cancellations due to invalid name corrections, travel agents are asked to please review the policy. Key points to keep in mind regarding the policy are as follows:
- Name changes are not permitted on reservations, whether it is prior to ticketing or after the ticket has been issued, unless entered for the purpose of correcting a misspelling of the passenger's name.
- As outlined in Delta’s Name Correction Policy, in most cases, a travel agent can make a minor name correction on a Delta 006 validated ticket and reissue the ticket without a waiver code, provided the PNR is properly documented as noted in the policy. A travel agent does not need to call Sales Support or Delta Reservations for assistance on misspellings if the name correction policy is applied.
