General Information

Standard (STD) is Delta Cargo's general freight service. Standard is an economical way to move your shipments throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Standard shipments have interline connections worldwide with numerous interline partners.

A $60.00 minimum applies.

Restrictions

  • Dimensions (length x width x height) must not exceed aircraft limitations. The maximum weight is based on aircraft limitations. A maximum of 300 pounds accepted for narrow body flights.


  • The maximum liability is $50,000.00 USD per piece or the value declared, whichever is less.


  • Items not accepted include Pet First, Delta Cares, and some Perishables.


  • Standard is not accepted on Delta's Connection carriers..


Booking

Standard is required to be booked. You may book your shipment at deltacargo.com, CPS (Cargo Portal Services), or call the Cargo Call Center at 1.800.DLCARGO.

Drop-off/Pick-up

You need to take your shipment to the local cargo facility for shipping and pick it up at the local cargo facility at the destination.

Special Handling

  • All Standard shipments must be accepted at your local cargo facility at least 120 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure. Acceptance starts after the air waybill and all Delta and government mandated inspections have been completed.


  • Your Standard shipment will arrive at the destination city within 24 hours from departure of booked flight and will be available for pickup 120 minutes after arrival.


Documentation

  • Each piece of the shipment must be legibly and durably marked with the name and address of the shipper and consignee. Old labels and markings must be removed or obliterated. Old labels and markings must be removed or obliterated.


  • Use the U.S.-based Air Waybill.


  • All Standard shipments to San Juan must be accompanied by a copy of the Commercial Invoice which states the value of the shipment.

All Standard shipments will follow IATA Rules for shipping.

Shipping Tips

  • Make sure your shipment is accepted at least 120 minutes prior to flight departure.


  • Make sure shipment is properly packaged.


  • Make sure documents are complete.


Packages

Shipments must be packed so as to ensure safe carriage with ordinary care in handling and so as not to injure or damage any persons or property.
