General Information

DASH Heavy (DHV) is Delta Cargo’s flight specific large express package service and is offered throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. DASH Heavy is for any bulk piece weighing 100 pounds or more, any air waybill at a minimum of 100 pounds, or for any palletized or unitized shipment.

Restrictions

  • Dimensions (length x width x height) and maximum weight must not exceed aircraft limitations. A maximum weight of 300 pounds per single piece for narrow body aircrafts and 100 pounds per single piece for Delta Connection® carriers applies.


  • The maximum liability is $50,000.00 USD per AWB or the actual value declared, whichever is less.


  • Service Level Guarantee is 20% of freight charges paid when booked electronically. Does not include surcharges and declared value fees.


  • Individual carrier restrictions (i.e. size, weight, specific commodities, cities served, etc.) shall apply when transportation is routed on Delta Connection® carriers.


  • DASH Heavy shipments containing dangerous goods shall not be tendered for interline transport.


Booking

  • A minimum of 120 minutes advance booking is required.


  • You may book your shipment on deltacargo.com, CPS (Cargo Portal Services), or call the Cargo Call Center at 1-800-DLCARGO (1-800-352-2746).


Drop Off/Pick Up

You need to take your shipment to the local cargo facility for shipping and pick it up at the local cargo facility at the destination.

Special Handling

  • All shipments must be accepted at your local cargo facility at least 120 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure. Acceptance starts after the air waybill and all Delta and government mandated inspections have been completed.


  • Your shipment will be available for pick-up 120 minutes after the actual flight arrives.


Documentation

  • Each piece of the shipment must be legibly and durably marked with the name and address of the shipper and consignee.  Old labels and markings must be removed or obliterated.


  • Use the U.S.-based Air Waybill.


  • All DASH Heavy shipments to San Juan must be accompanied by a copy of the Commercial Invoice which states the value of the shipment.


Regulations

All shipments will follow IATA Rules for shipping.

Shipping Tips

  • Make sure your shipment is accepted at least 120 minutes prior to flight departure.


  • Make sure shipment is properly packaged.


  • Make sure documents are complete.


Packaging

Shipments must be packed so as to ensure safe carriage with ordinary care in handling and not to injure or damage any persons or property.
