Drop-off/Pick-up
You need to take your shipment to the local cargo facility for shipping and pick it up at the local cargo facility at the destination.
Shipments must be accepted at least 180 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure. Acceptance starts after the air waybill and all Delta and government mandated inspections have been completed.
Restrictions
- Equation Heavy shipments must be pre-booked.
- Total shipment is over 300 kilograms (661 pounds) or any individual piece that weighs more than 70 kilograms (154 pounds). The maximum weight is based on aircraft limitations.
- The maximum liability is $1,250.00 USD per piece or the value declared, whichever is less.
- Service Level Guarantee, when booked, electronically, is 100% of total freight charge for 100kg or less and 50% for 101kg and above. Does not include declared value fees. Maximum refund is $3,000.00 (USD).
- Individual carrier restrictions (i.e. size, weight, specific commodities, cities served, etc) shall apply when transportation is routed on Delta’s Connection Carriers.
The following commodities will NOT be accepted as Equation:
- Dangerous goods explosives Class 1
- RAM Class 7
- Corrosive Class 8
- Hatching eggs
- Live animals
- Nauseous cargo
- Human remains
- Valuable cargo
- Perishable cargo
Booking
Equation Heavy is required to be pre-booked. You may book your shipment on deltacargo.com or call the Cargo Call Center at 1.800.DLCARGO (1.800.352.2746).
Special Handling
All Equation Heavy shipments must be accepted at your local cargo facility at least 180 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure.
Your Equation Heavy shipment will be available for pick-up 180 minutes after the actual flight arrives. Delivery time can vary from station to station. This does NOT include customs clearance.
Documentation
- Each piece of the shipment must be legibly and durably marked with the name and address of the shipper and consignee. Old labels and markings must be removed or obliterated.
- Use the type International Air Waybill.
Regulations
All international shipments will follow IATA Rules for shipping.

- Make sure all documents are complete.
Packaging
Shipments must be packed so as to insure safe carriage with ordinary care in handling and so as not to injure or damage any persons or property.
