General Information
The GPS service is Delta Cargo's express and premium product service enhancement. Proudly offered on every flight in our global network (including Delta Connection®), GPS provides an added layer of reliability that allows for monitoring and tracking throughout the entire shipment life cycle. Approved Devices
Per FAA regulations, only approved GPS devices are allowed on Delta aircrafts. At this time, the only approved GPS devices are:- OnAsset SENTRY 400 FlightSafe™

The SENTRY 400 FlightSafe ("SENTRY") device is a robust tracking solution. In addition to GPS location reporting, the SENTRY device is capable of measuring and reporting temperature, shock, light, and/or pressure at customizable intervals. From temperature senstivie pharmaceuticals to delicate, high value machinery, the SENTRY device constantly monitors your shipment from origin to destination. Shipments utilizing the GPS service may be booked through any of our convenient booking channels, including www.deltacargo.com, Cargo Portal Services, or the Delta Cargo Customer Service Center at 1.800.DL.CARGO (1.800.352.2746). All GPS-enabled shipments must meet the following requirements:- Include the “GPS” special handling code
- The manufacturer (i.e. "OnAsset") and device ID (also known as the "SENTRY ID") of each unit must be declared on the air waybill in the Handling Information section
Restrictions
The following restrictions apply to all shipments utilizing Delta Cargo's GPS service:- Shipments may not be interlined with other air carriers
- Only approved devices are authorized to be included in shipments
- Individual aircraft and/or country restrictions may apply (see below for international use)
- Limited to Delta Cargo's premium and express products, such as DASH, DASH Heavy, Equation, Equation Heavy, Fresh, Live Animals, Variation Pharma, Variation Safe, and Variation Wheels
- Maximum liability may vary based on the product being booked. See our Products page for more information
Declaration
Per TSA regulations, GPS devices within shipments are required to be properly declared on the air waybill at booking and acceptance. The device manufacturer (i.e. "OnAsset") and device or SENTRY ID must be provided on the air waybill in addition to the “GPS” special handling code.
International Use
The GPS service may be used on Delta's global network; however, certain restrictions may apply when shipping to select countries. Delta has identified the following countries, which may require additional documentation/declarations on the air waybill when sending GPS-enabled shipments:- Brazil
- China
- India
- Russia
Helpful Information
Shipping Tips:- Make sure your shipment is properly packaged
- Make sure all documents are complete and all GPS devices are properly declared on the air waybill
- GPS devices must be securely attached to, or enclosed within, the package being shipped. Delta Cargo is not responsible for damage caused to (or loss of) GPS devices in transit
- Please be aware that due to recent security initiatives, GPS devices included in shipments containing organic material may require additional screening, up to and including a physical inspection of the shipment
