Bulk Cargo

Priority First Day

  • The applicable minimum charge (MIN CHARGE) is assessed for a cargo shipment when the per pound charge (1 LB) multiplied by the chargeable weight (the greater of the actual total shipment—weight or the volume) results in a figure less than the MIN CHARGE.

  • For example, the minimum charge is $50; the per pound charge is $.40 and the chargeable weight is 75lbs. The cost of the shipment is $50, the minimum charge ($.40x75lbs = $30).

  • The applicable per pound charge (1 LB) is assessed for a cargo shipment when the charge multiplied by the chargeable weight results in a figure greater than the MIN CHARGE.

  • For example, the minimum charge is $50; the per pound charge is $.40 and the chargeable weight is 75lbs. The charge for this shipment is $60, the applicable per pound charge ($.40x150lbs = $60).

  • The applicable 100 pound charge (100 LB) is assessed for each 100 pounds or more of chargeable weight.

  • For example, If the chargeable weight is 112 pounds and the 100 LB rate is $66.00, then the shipment charge is $73.92 (1.12 X $66.00).

  • For weights higher than 100 LB, cargo charges are listed as a fee for each 100 pounds of chargeable weight.

  • For example, if a 250 pound rate (250 LB) of $49.20 is published, the actual assessed fee for 250 pounds of chargeable weight is $123.00 (2.5 X 49.20).
