Cesar Marti Garro is the Director – Revenue Management, Network Planning and Alliances. Previously Cesar was the GM of Alliances for the cargo division with primary responsibility for the implementation of the Cargo Joint Venture with Air France-KLM, Cargo’s participation in the SkyTeam Cargo Alliance, and all cooperative cargo agreements with other airlines.
Cesar comes to Delta from Northwest Airlines Cargo, where he spent 7 years in various areas of Network Management. As Director of Network Planning and Scheduling of the freighter network, Cesar led the effort to right size the Freighter Schedules and its fleet to respond to changes in the economic environment. Unfortunately, the increase in the price of oil and slump in demand forced us to decide to shut down our freighter network by end of 2009. In this capacity he was also responsible for strategic alliances with other carriers like DHL Express and Fedex, and the Northwest Cargo military charters.
As Director of Distribution at Northwest Cargo, Cesar led efforts to improve the Cargo Portal Service booking portal and expand online booking penetration. He was also participant in IATA projects like e-freight and Cargo 2000.
As Manager of Transatlantic Revenue Management, Cesar lead the Northwest Cargo’s efforts to actively coordinate activities under Joint Venture with KLM, and was involved in Northwest’s decision to join the SkyTeam Cargo Alliance. He also held responsibilities for pricing administration and reporting and analysis for Cargo.
Before joining Northwest Airlines, Cesar spent 3 years as a consultant at McKinsey and Company in Brazil and Argentina, working in various projects throughout South America. Prior to that, he spent 5 years at Exxon Argentina in strategic planning and retail.
Cesar graduated as an Industrial Engineer from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology in Argentina, and he holds a Masters in Business Administration from Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He is married and has four children.
