Community Partners

Throughout the history of Delta, employees have donated countless hours to improving the communities where they live and work. Delta created its formalized volunteer program, Community Partners, to help channel the limitless energy of our employees where it is most needed. Community Partners manages requests for volunteers from nonprofit organizations, recognizes volunteer accomplishments and increases awareness of volunteer opportunities.

Delta-United Way Jet PowerPull

To support and raise awareness for the agencies of United Way, Delta sponsored the 1st Annual Delta/United Way Jet PowerPull Saturday, August 21, 2004, at the Delta Air Lines Technical Operations Center in Atlanta. Twenty-member teams, representing Atlanta area corporations, competed for the fastest 25-foot tug of a Boeing Jet and raised funds to benefit United Way.

Habitat for Humanity

Delta flight attendants established an onboard aluminum recycling program in 1988, ultimately benefiting various charitable organizations including Habitat for Humanity. In 1993, as its popularity and commitment to this cause grew, Delta began contributing the proceeds of this recycling effort for corporate involvement with Habitat for Humanity in our communities.

In addition, Delta has continued its support of Habitat for Humanity over the last decade by providing financial support and employee volunteers to build more than 30 homes in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Ohio, Texas, Utah, California, and Oregon.

Legacy Ski and Ride Program

With Delta's help, many Utah school children have a chance to become Olympic stars. Or at least get a good start. The Legacy Ski and Ride Program gives kids a chance to enjoy a free first time ski or snowboard lesson at the Park City Mountain Resort. Delta volunteers support the Program by helping with check-in, fitting boots and skis, and check out at the end of the day, not to mention offering words of encouragement and praise.
